I never, never thought so much about romance.

It was something that I wrote about;

A story many wished to be in,

someone else to be there

with you every step of the way.

The desire for the warmth

of other persons' presence,

body,

arms.

The support and knowing someone else is always there.

The need for them to be there

because they made you feel complete,

wanted,

loved,

because being with them brings such joy

into your own life no matter what comes.

These to me were all just fantasy,

a fairy tale.

I was never, was never a chance taker

when it came to my heart was on the line.

To depend on another

human being was not a risk I was willing to take.

It would mean

I had to be strong enough

for disappointments,

pain,

mistakes,

a broken heart;

I blocked it all out,

I didn't want to get hurt.

I'll never, will never forget when I first met you.

I saw it all the same,

another genderless attractive being.

You saw through my rejections

and wore your heart on your sleeves,

even though you knew

i was not willing to do so.

You waited for me

and never left me.

I soon gave in

and found myself craving

for your arms around me,

your voice whispering into my ear,

the warmth

and comfort your body gave me;

you were my home,

my safety net.

I might never, might never know

what will come in the future,

but I believe in you,

us

and our future.

I'm ready for all the pain

and joy

we will have together

and regret not a moment of it.

Today I make a vow to you.

I may not know exactly how

to say it in words,

but as your eyes

look into mine

I know you know

and understand

all I feel and current thoughts.

My world,

my home,

my forever family

with you.
