Summary: A young man meets a woman in a small western-type town. They fall in love, but there's something he doesn't understand. Whenever the sun goes down, the woman is nowhere to be found until she appears on the beach the next day. He'll do whatever it takes to figure out what is going on with his (hopefully) future-wife-to-be.
I walked to the local coffee shop which was only about half a mile away. I looked at my feet the entire time, look anybody in the eye in this town and you're just asking for trouble. Ignoring the dust blowing in my eyes, like I always do,I entered the shop.
It was a small place, just a few tables,a counter, and a few stools which looked like they would break at the slightest bit of weight. It isn't that nice of a place, but the people won't bite...too hard. Sitting on one of the stools I waited impatiently for the scruffy looking barista,if you could even call the guy that,to make his way over to me. He took one look in my direction and narrowed his eyes.
"Hey there sonny, did you dye your hair with oil or something?" he snickered.
Being used to the "jokes" about my hair,I was quick to defend myself.
"Really? That's the best you've got? You can't even dye hair with oil! You should know,I mean that is how you lost all of you're hair, right?"
Everyone, which was about four or five people, roared with laughter. Realizing he was beat, the barista got me the cup of coffee I ordered. As I left the shop and started heading down the street,I bumped into someone. Literally.
"Hey watch where you're-" I started to snap but then I looked up and saw the eyes of a beautiful woman looking into mine.
"I'm so sorry! I should have been watching where I was going. It's my fault." she apologized.
Her voice,it could only be the voice of an angel.
"No,it's my fault. I had my head in the clouds. I should thank you for bringing me back to reality!" I joked lightheartedly.
She laughed. "My name's Adia Sonoe."
Lovely woman, lovely name. The perfect match.
"Name's Keen. Keen Dirren to be exact."
Adia smiled, exposing her pearly white teeth. "I'm new to town. Would you mind maybe, showing me around?" she asked in a gentle voice.
"Um,well...I don't know." I answered,stumbling on every word.
"Pretty please?"she asked, batting her eyelashes in the cutest way possible.
Finally giving in,I sighed.
"Oh,alright."
