The princess rarely gets this kind of rescue, but it doesn't exactly end badly for her nor her 'prince'.

AN: This story was written without the intent of being posted, so it was originally a dialogue…but now that I actually posted it and some of you like it, I have to write in the story bits, which can be time consuming when I keep adding more dialogue as inspiration hits me…which means more story, yeah!
I hope this story lives up to the expectation of what it is…a funny little fairytale with a rather lovely twist.
I promise nothing of quality only awkward humor and a fun ending, if I ever stop writing this damn thing…Enjoy.
Repost: I'm reposting this with a fair bit of inspiration from ruff1298. Now I think it has significantly more potential as an actually story as opposed to the ghosting of one I was going to write.
"And?" She casts me a cavalier grin as her long black hair cascades down passed her shoulders. It takes me a second to get over the shock before I can begin to protest her arrival,
"Why are you here?" I'm still a polite person, I can't just say 'get out' now can I? She begins to move about the room,
"To save you from this decaying bastion." Her speech is surprisingly eloquent, her tone is quite commanding and very lovely, I'm sure she could be a charming merchant if she wanted to be. Now I must voice my protest,
"I'm not marrying a girl." I cross my arms.
"Neither am I." With her back facing me she keeps a perfectly calm voice as she turns her head back to look at me with one eye. Now I'm confused,
"Then why are you here?" I release my arms and take a half step in her direction. She completely turns around to face me,
"Again, to save you." She smiles and there is this kindness in her eyes that says that she is being genuine. I point at her,
"…But you're a girl." I personally can't fathom why a female would wish to wear armor and attempt to save a princess locked in a tower guarded by a dragon.
"Are we going to continue this senseless spiral of circular logic or are we going to escape before the dragon discovers me trying, in vain it would seem, to liberate you?" She masterfully wielded her wit, which was probably just as sharp as the sword on her hip, as she saunters over to the window with a little sway in her aforementioned hips.
"…I…ah…" I may have been at a slight lack of words given her surprising skill with words. While she's peering out the window trying to discover any sign of the dragon she breaks her focus and looks over at me,
"And now you're babbling…great." She rolls her eyes as she walks past me toward the other window.
"I'm not babbling, I just can't figure out why you're here if you don't want to marry me." It was somewhat hard for me to grasp such a thing. What was the point of saving the girl in the tower if you didn't want to marry her, I mean that was the entire reason she was in the tower?
"I simply wish to remove you from this crumbling ruin, hopefully preventing your death when it collapses… That and I find it completely ridiculous for a person to be locked away in a tower so some random knight can save you from a poor creature enslaved for the sole purpose of dying at the hands of the aforementioned knight. The whole concept is very archaic, and a disgrace of the very idea of love and female strength." She barely slowed down to take a breath,
"I mean look at me; I'm not waiting around for some arbitrary guy to kill a creature as elegant as a dragon just to make me his slave/baby maker. I'd rather see the world, experience the wonder of creation and find the man out there who wants to take that trip with me." Her hands were a flurry of various motions as she strode about the room arguing more than just the basic reason for saving me.
I didn't really mind too much, her movements were almost entrancing…and elegant display of her graceful limbs and digits, she could easily captivate a court of kings and bend them to her will.
"You're very opinionated." I keep a very straight face that in no way conveys the awe that I had watching her. She nods firmly,
"Damn straight. Now are you coming or did I waste a trip?" She points at the window she had ascended.
"…I…" She was as I said very persuasive, but I was here because I sought a prince, knight, or hero, not because it's a prison. She moves over to my bed removing her sword,
"I'll give you till morning." She sits on it as she begins to remove her boots. I can safely say I was speechless.
"So do you have any extra night clothing or do I sleep in the nude? Which is fine with me, I like the feeling of my bare skin against blankets." She speaks as if it were the most natural conversation in the world. I on the other hand can't imagine such a primitive action as okay,
"No, I have some extra you can use." I moved over to my dresser to fetch the clothing. She catches me avoiding the naked bit,
"What you've never slept in the buff?"
"Never." I say proudly as I hand her the clothes. Her face dons a little confusion as she speaks,
"But you're up here all alone, it's not like the dragon is going to spy on you." She motions to the window. I harden my face,
"That is irrelevant." And cross my arms again.
"No, it's not; the fact that you are so uptight that you can't sleep naked in a very private, well-guarded room is an indicator of…" I cut her off sharply with a smirk,
"Good manners." She narrows her eyes and pokes me in the chest with her index finger,
"Your sheepish, single-minded slave mentality." I push her finger aside, how dare she poke me. I bite back irately,
"I'm not a slave!" My voice may have gotten a bit louder.
"Prove it by sleeping naked." She smirks tauntingly.
"No." Sternly I refuse the bait she's dangling before me. I will not be swayed to her strange way of thinking.
"Alright, slave girl." As she waves her hand up in dismissal. How dare she,
"…Fine. I'll sleep unclothed." She is very aggravating and to be honest I wasn't in the mood for it, having just lost the prospect of a valiant male knight saving me was a bit depressing.
I blow out the candles and get completely undressed and slip under the covers.
I enjoy the strangely comfortable nakedness, until she gets in the bed with me,
"What are you doing?" She's on the other side of the bed, but still.
"Going to sleep." She answers lazily.
"But I'm naked." Fear strains my voice. This is to say the least an awkward situation.
"I'm aware. Remember I'm the one who convinced you." I think she's grinning, which makes me a little irritated,
"Then get out." I rollover to face her in darkness.
"Show me to your guest bed." She rolls over to face me.
"There isn't one." She takes a very polite tone, much to my surprise,
"Then it would be very rude of you not to offer me a bed to sleep in." I start to stutter,
"But…but." Her voice fades to slight annoyance,
"Grow up. I'm not going to molest you. I have zero interest in girls." She rolls back over, facing away from me. I had not even considered the fact that she had any form of sexual interest in females, I was just embarrassed to be in bed with her naked…
"…I don't have a choice, do I?" She smiles again, I just bloody know it,
"None what so ever." I relax a little. There really isn't anything I should worry about so I exhale and close my eyes. The blankets do feel good and I suddenly wish that I had done this before.
AN: Did I warn you guys about nudity? Because I think I did but I can never be too sure…eh, I'm sure I did, because if not…it's a coming around the bend…
P.S. I seem to only be able to write this after consuming several cups of coffee, is that weird?
I'd also ask if seeing purple sheep drinking raspberry vodka is weird, but that would be silly…right? (eyes dart back and forth to purple sheep drinking a bit too much vodka)
RePost: To those of you who read the first version of the second chapter is this any better or do I pray for the third time being a charm?
To those of you that didn't, how was it?
