Catch me by the collar,
Clip me to a rusted chain;
Let me hang.
Watch the life drain from my whitening face.

Pull me by the scruff,
Make me a noose;
Leash me into a world of your making,
Isolated in the fuchsia sky.

Tie the knot,
Cut me loose;
Pull the noose through tousled hair,
Fall down the melting stairs.

Watch the world as it fades away,
The night as day,
Grasp slender breathing in your palm;
Hold it tight,
Clear,
Bright.

Make me a creature of your night,
The wasp trapped in your putrid soul;
Hold my hand with prickling feelers.
Sting me into unconciousness.

And when the prick seethes with poison
I'll be gone,
A mote in the frosted sunlight,
Dripping with my words,
Dripping,
Dropping;
Stopping my breath,
Breathing my life.
Living the past that's
Passing me by,
Even as I lie,
Collared, among the crushed rosehips.
