Day 22

hollowed out and beaten down,
there's not much left
in this grey body, this person.
my elbows shake when i wake up,
harnessing a cold from deep within,
and my eyes clench tight, from
the brightness of the sun or
being alive, i do not know.
but ill manage, that's what i do,
when i strike out and walk alone,
i will get better and it does
–not feel like lying this time.
and when i start dreaming in color,
and maybe when my world does too,
ill wake up with you,
and give you everything.
