I walk slowly into the building. It is white and made of some kind of hard shiny plastic. Lasers scan me as I walk in the door, leaving me feeling slightly violated. It beeps; a pleasant dinging sound and flashes green, indicating that I go in.

When I enter the room, a woman gasps. She is wearing a light blue blazer over a tight silver sequin top and long black legging. "Where are your uniforms, young man?" she asks in a sharp tone.

"I'm new here. Is this the office?" Her expression relaxes slightly.

"Yes, this is the office. I'm the secretary. My name is Variah, but please call me Miss Vesper. Are you here to register?"

"Yes, I'm Reef Ashley,"

"Okay, Reef. You're in my system. But I'm going to have to ask you a few questions to fill in your record. You ready?"

"Yeah," I don't like questions about my personal life, but I guess I'll live.

"Where are you from?" Damn, she asked the major question all ready!

"The Molehill," Miss Vesper sucks in a gasp.

"And what p-part of the m-Molehill are y-you from, r-Reef?" she stutters out.

"The Plutonium Mountains. You know, what used to be Idaho," She glares at me.

"I have passed my history class you know. And how'd you manage to get yourself into the Cloud?"

"My grandfather's sister died and left him a bunch of money. He paid my sister and I's into the Cloud,"

"Any other family?" Miss Vesper seems to have calmed down.

"My mother, Monique, my aforementioned sister, Angela, and my father, Xavril,"

"Fine. Here's is your Pad; Your schedule is on it. I have high hopes that you can figure it out, even with a background like yours," She turns up her nose and points to the exit. Of course, I sense I'm not welcome and leave.

Ah, I love how fair our world is!
