I hope everyone enjoys this one, I'm trying to make up for Lenny's general annoyingness. Love ya, keep reviewing.
Lexi: Lenny
First off, I'm Lexi. This chapter is just called "Lenny" because I have to tell you about my sister. She's the popular one, the fun one, the mean unattainable one, you know? I hate her sometimes, I really do. I bet she doesn't remember when she used to go to public schools, she had the best grades in the whole fourth grade, and I had second. She doesn't remember when she did that commercial that aired nationwide, and I couldn't even be her understudy, even though we're twins. She doesn't remember the argument we had with our parents in the third grade over who got to go to a private school. She doesn't remember much of anything.
Right off the back, Lenny is the talk of the whole school. At first people had thought I grew my hair out, but then they saw me, with my same old hair, and same bright rainbow wardrobe, and they dropped that idea.
Lenny has long blond hair, it's down to the tops of her thighs, but she keeps it in a braid so tight it only looks like it's at the small of her back. She says she has too much hair to curl, flat iron, or crimp. She does, I've tried numerous times to do something with it. I don't know why she just won't cut it.
Lenny wears a lot of black and grays, and gold, white, and purples, and reds, and velvet, and deep blues, it's kind of weird if you think about it. All of her clothes resemble black or gray really, I mean, there's barely a distinction. She loves bracelets, gold ones to be exact. She says they make her feel like an Egyptian queen, which is stupid because we're German.
I hear my friends, Danny and Luke, talking about how hot she is. They never talk about me like that, and we're identical twins, she has a mole by her lip that makes her look a little like a mini Cindy Crawford, but that's our only distinction really. Then again, I'm mostly legs, and she is too, but it doesn't seem like she is. She's all angles, sharp looking features, sharp words, and sharp motions, like everything she does has to be the best.
I don't actually see her again until lunch. She's sitting by herself, but people migrate towards her, like she has some weirdo magnetic power, it's so creepy.
Danny, Luke, Samantha, Lucia, and I end up at the same table as her. Danny and Luke are ogling her like she's some sort of prize, and I know they'll be warring about who can ask her out first, because they're brothers and that's what they do. I wish Lenny and I would argue over cute boys, like Danny. He's the cute one of the two, but Luke seems like more of her type because he's quiet and sarcastic, and the dark to Danny's light.
"What's your real name?" Danny asks. His voice is perfect, like his hazel eyes, and tousled blonde hair.
"Elenora, but I hate it, a lot, so prefer Lenny."
"Nice, Luke's real name isn't Lucas it's Lucan. Weird huh?"
"Yeah, but Lucan's pretty cool. Sounds like the official name for werewolf."
Lunch goes on like that. Everyone shooting questions at her, and Lenny giving them amazingly normal Lenny answers. It's so monotonous.
"Hey, um, Lenny, you wanna hang out with us this afternoon? We're all going down to the strip mall." Luke says to her. Her eyes brighten gleefully, and he smirks, which is his smile, and she bites her lips and nods at him. I can't blame her. Luke looks a lot like Danny, or really Danny looks like Luke, because Luke's from his dad's first marriage, and the reason he got a divorce is because Danny was born. To another woman. He has blonde hair like Danny, but his has light brown highlights because he's from Florida, and his eyes are more green than hazel, but there is some brown in them.
"Lucia, come on, we're gonna be late." Lenny giggles. We found that she has science with Lucia, and math with Samantha and Luke, and at the beginning of the day on odd days, art with me, gym with Danny, and study hall with Luke. It's pretty incredible how that works out. A class with all of us. Too bad she doesn't have anymore with Luke, because I can tell she likes him.
At the end of the day we all pile into Danny's huge pick up. There isn't enough space for a sixth person, so Luke volunteers to sit in the "trunk" with Lenny. I hope Danny doesn't get distracted and crash, thus killing us all.
When we get to the strip mall, Lenny doesn't complain about how wet her hair is. She hates when it gets wet though, because it curls up, a lot. She takes the braid out and runs her fingers through the wet tangles, Luke watches her, and Danny watches Luke.
Lucia flips her long black hair over her shoulder, and whines at us to hurry up and walk, and Lenny does, and links her arm through Lucia. I think Lucia and Lenny are going to be pretty close considering Lucia is the bad girl in our group. She dresses like Lenny, but she seems even more menacing because she has long dark hair and incredible grey eyes.
"Ommi goodness Luc, stop being melodramatic. I was wringing my hair dry so I wouldn't drip in all the stores, and get us kicked out." Lenny arched an eyebrow at Lucia, and Lucia arched an eyebrow right back, it's horrible.
Luke and Danny are Baby Warbucks, so obviously, they both have black cards, and Luke is buying Lenny bracelets and earrings, and even a new black and gold mesh top, that she'll probably wear on her date with him, because he invited her to this club where some band in playing.
We all ate, and Luke played with Lenny's hair the whole time, it was drying but still really wet, thanks to the climate here in Seattle, and everywhere else in Washington. Danny actually joined in some conversation, and told me to stop being jealous about Lenny and Luke, who were in their own little bubble. I tried to smile at Danny, but couldn't and he wrapped his arm around my shoulder and gave me a hug. It warmed me right down to my toes.
"Why are you so quiet Sammy?" Lenny asks. Samantha hates it when people call her Sam or Sammy, or anything other than Samantha, so I had no idea why she was letting Lenny get away with it.
"Oh no reason. Why are you and Luke suddenly so close?" Samantha quipped. She wasn't mad, she an Luke had gone on a few dates and figured they wouldn't work out, so we all knew she was joking, including Lenny, which made me mad because I wanted her to be sad or offended or something other than giddy.
"'Cause Luke's sweet. Oh Sammy, are you, by chance, jealous?" Lenny gasps for special affect, and we all laugh, and I guess that makes Lenny okay.
Days pass in this fashion, eventually everyone stops fawning all over Lenny, and I warm up to having her around. She's sweet when she wants to be, and she's almost syrupy to Luke, always. If he helps her with her books he gets a kiss, helps her with math, he gets a kiss, she even buys lunch with him. They pile a bunch of food on to one tray and dig in.
I guess it's safe to say that they're dating when she brings him home to meet our parents. Yeah, real safe to say. I've never brought Luke home, he'd probably seem like a bad influence on me to my parents, but they were absolutely elated when Lenny brought him home. It was sickening.
After Lenny and Luke had lunch with us, Luke said he was taking her to a special concert for an underground band that she really liked. It wasn't his style, but he said he'd be willing to sit through it for Lenny.
She didn't come back that night.
