I believe it is safe to say
That the world is flawed – very flawed
In many different ways
Money comes before love
And hardships are brushed aside
We'd rather cage a dove,
Continue to live a lie
Society denies the people who need aid
Until I am left wondering
When everyone will wake
And interrupt the world's tirade
Politicians see greed, instead of what's right
They run towards riches
Feed hatred and fire to the fight
A life in their hands, is a dollar to spend
How long will this continue?
When will this finally end?
If only the world woke, if it knew
Could the lonely receive a friend?
Someone true to their word
Unhindered by temptations
Keeping their path to what's right
If someone like that came around
Would we be able to see the light?
