I don't understand, even though I'm a girl and I'm a teenager too. The strange customs of my own species are confusing to me. I guess I just don't fit in- and that's fine by me, as long as I can keep seeing every last detail of the bigger picture.

How can I translate,
the thought's in my head?
Can't any of you see?
The letters,
The words written
In the pupils
Of my eyes
As I glance your way?
I'll be the first to admit,
I'm lonely
But,
Still,
You're all faceless to me.
With your flickering cell phone screens
And tubes of lip gloss.
With your cupcake lace
And puckered lips.
Your eyes are glazed over,
Reflecting blue light
And you hear only the beep-
Of an incoming message.
Darkness is just a way not to see-
Yet,
Sunshine
Can give you revolting skin diseases
And the pink
Of a sunset
Might as well be a fly,
Crushed on a new car's windscreen
to people
who don't think twice.
Daisies and dandelions
Are filthy weeds-
but they're the only flowers,
That still grow here.
I may wear glasses,
But I'm not the one,
Who can't see what's ahead of me.
Fishes in dresses,
They do what they like,
Seeing two inches,
Past their noses,
Caring only for those they call BFF.
But I know now,
Why you don't understand,
The emotions in my eyes.
You just don't look into them...
I guess you see what you want to see.
