Poetry of a Dreamer

As a writer, I often write poems. I have a rather large collection of poems that I wrote on a moments notice. My wish is to find these poems and share them with you. Please be nice; I wrote some of these a long time ago.

How long has it been now

since I sent that letter?

My deepest thoughts,

My plea for forgiveness

I'm waiting to hear from you.

I've been counting the days.

Today makes 2035.

About five years, no?

I'm still waiting for your response.

Did you not get my letter?

Or do you refuse to talk to me?

I offered my apologies-

I know it's hard to forgive,

But did you even read it?

I'm still waiting...

You're far away now...

I understand it could be a while

until that letter is in your hands.

But don't you think five years is enough?

I'm waiting for your response.

I've blown the seeds

from countless dandelions

wishing you'd respond,

why do you refuse to write back?

I'm still waiting to hear from you.

I've wished on every sunset

and full moon

for five years.

As much as I hate it,

I can't wait much longer.

But I'll try...

You see, since you left,

I've fallen ill.

I've been visiting the hospital

several times these past few months.

I've been bed ridden...

Still waiting.

But I'm outside now,

waiting for the delivery

that may never come.

I picked a dandelion as I wait

And blow away the seeds once more

Waiting for you.

But, you see, I'm still weak.

I shouldn't have done that...

My chest hurts now

almost as much as my heart.

I fall to my knees,

Waiting to hear from you

My mother comes now,

and pulls me to her side.

I cry onto her shoulder,

as my heart breaks a little more.

I close my eyes,

and refuse to open them,

until I hear from you.

Here, in the hospital,

as doctors and nurses treat me,

I know I can't wait much longer,

Not if things keep in this direction.

But I'll hold on as long as I can,

So I can receive your letter when it comes.

I'm still waiting...
