sometimes I think some

fundamental

fun and mental

flesh and metal

piece of me is

missing

because surely the

tap

tap

tap

of my heart

is a far cry from the

thump

thump

thump

the resolute and

rebellious pounding

resounding

blood percussion

of those who

still

exist

outside their thoughts

and sometimes I think I'm

falling

while the rest

fly by failing

and I'm

flailing while they

flounder but

somehow

I'm always just

a given direction

away from

terminal velocity

and then

impact

sometimes I think some

fundamental

piece of me is

missing

but then

I realize that

fear fills in

the cracks

and

whole
