"So maybe he's not just my best friend! Maybe he is more! Maybe I do still love him! What does it matter? Go ahead, tell him! I don't care anymore!
He graduates in eighteen days, and he leaves for college and he'll forget about me. So tell him. I'm done caring!" I yelled into the phone and hung it up.
I threw my cell phone across the room and busted into tears. I was done caring.
I had tried to keep Shane from telling him for almost four months now.
But, you have no idea what's going on here. So cue the back-story.
Kaylan had been my best friend for almost two years. It doesn't seem like that long, but I felt like we had known each other forever.
He never ceased to brighten my day, and I could trust him with anything. We talked and texted constantly, and I soon found myself falling for him.
I fall easily, but I also get over guys quickly. But now, almost three years later, I knew that this was something more, something crazy.
But I kept it to myself. Now, he graduates high school in eighteen days. And I'm stuck here for three more years.
He found out last Christmas that I kind of liked him, but he never said anything about it and we just got closer.
He teased me all the time, and my friends always said we flirted constantly. But then one day, he got a girlfriend.
And that girlfriend HATED me. I never tried to make a move on him or anything, but she hated me with a burning passion.
She, just like him, was a senior and I was a freshman. So I still don't know why she was so afraid that I was going to steal him away.
Soon after they started dating, he and I started drifting apart. No matter how hard I tried to keep it from happening, we have now reached a day where we barely speak. It kills me every time I see them together. But one day, the greatest thing ever happened. They broke up. Now's your chance, my friends said. But I'm too scared.
Time is running out now. And I was discussing what to do with a friend of mine, who was also my best friend's older brother.
But he was a backstabber, so I knew he would tell my friend of my feelings for him before I could.
So I just decided to hurry up and wait. So here is the story of what happened…..The story of Juliet Hargrove and Kaylan Reese.
