The Ghost Who Shared My House
I had a ghost who shared my house
At times she was quiet as a mouse
But every so often she'd come to me and say
Come along darling I want to play
I was helpless in her wake
Even knowing what was as stake
You see we played a deadly game
She always wanted my heart to maim
Despite it all I could not say no
And I succumbed to her unearthly glow
We played upstairs on the carpet stain
The place where she was unjustly slain
Our game was simple I suppose
One condition would bring my close
The day I fell in love would be
The day she made the end of me
One afternoon she asked I play with her
I did all I could to distract and deter
But she dragged me away and I cried inside
Knowing that day would be the day I died
She could feel my cold despair
Told me she tasted it in the air
Once in place she asked who's your dove
I answered softly it's you my love
I put flowers on her grave today
Knelt and asked if she was doing okay
As I turned a whisper floated by
My darling I'm glad you didn't lie
You have passed my greatest test
And finally put my soul to rest
With one last breath her voice was gone
And my heart broke like a lovely dawn
