"On the road again!" Sang Dristha as she manoeuvred Vera between the stationary cars scattered on the road. The cars were fewer and further between as she got further away from civilisation. It mustn't have been raining quite as hard out of the city: the wall of water that had dominated her windshield for the past 4 albums was was loosing its vigour. Trees went by in empty paddocks and Shah Rukh Khan sung sweetly to her. When her eyes at last started to feel heavy Dristha chose a hidden driveway at random and drove up the farmer's long and shady drive until she was positive no one on the open road would spot a Vera. In the unlikely event someone drove past. After such a big day Dristha was ready for a nap and something to eat. She looked guiltily over at George. "I'm sorry." Said Dristha before leaning into the back seat and grabbing some pre-boiled eggs. "If I didn't have to, I wouldn't." George stared at her, his silence speaking volumes. Dristha squirmed under the judgmental gaze. "It's different with you." Dristha tried to reason. "You know I'd never eat you. Even if you were the last egg on Earth."

Dristha lay down on her towel in the grass, hands resting behind her head and looked up at the hovering raindrops sparkling in sun just breaking from behind the clouds. When she was too hungry to wait any longer Dristha cracked the shell of a boiled egg, making George look away, and dag in. An egg had never tasted so good.
