Chapter 17: The Second Semester Begins

It was late at night on the Yamakawa Academy school grounds as a young female student ran for her life while being pursued by a group of Ani that were after her. She thought she had heard this place was supposed to be safe again, so why were they here? She ran out from the school grounds and in to the nearby retail street that had several small stores that catered to the students and the campus. She ran in to the narrow alleyway between two of the buildings then cried out in despair as she tripped and fell to the ground with a hard thud. She squeezed her eyes shut, thinking this was the end for her; but then she heard something happen and a few moments passed and she was still fine. She slowly opened her eyes and stood up looking around.

That was when the girl noticed two boys standing before her and all the Ani had disappeared; nothing but a few wisps of black mist remained. The smaller boy with short brown hair looked over at her and said, "Hey, are you alright? You should probably get back to your room. It's not always safe out here late at night."

"B-but…what happened? What did you two do to those monsters?" She asked, in surprise as she walked over to the two of them.

"Don't worry about that. Just hurry on back to the dormitories. There are curfew hours in place for a reason." The taller on with long red hair said.

She nodded and then smiled a little and said, "Well, thank you for saving my life." She then ran back in the direction of the school dorms.

Neil sighed and crossed his arms over his muscular chest and simply said, "Freshmen. What are you going to do?"

Nezz grinned a bit and replied, "Tell me about it. Sayako said that there were a lot of new students coming this semester. Hopefully they'll figure out that the Ani are more likely to show up the later it becomes at night before too long. Oh, and that whole curfew spin was hilarious. I could barely keep a straight face. You sounded like a hall monitor or something."

"Well it's better for her to think that we work for the school or something, rather than she know we're knights. That's still supposed to be a secret." Neil commented. The two of them started to head back to their room themselves since they had already gone through most of the school and it was mostly quiet.

"Yeah I suppose you're right, nice going then." Nezz complimented in a light voice while the two of them walked together. Unknown to them, they were being watched the whole time. Up on top of one of the nearby buildings, a pair of girls watched them from the shadows. Once the two boys had gone far enough away, they walked out of the shadows and in to the moonlight. The girls appeared to be twin sisters with long straight blonde hair and bright blue eyes. One wore an expensive looking light blue, almost white, mini skirt with matching top with gold bracelets around her wrists while the other wore something similar. Except hers was black, with a longer dress like skirt and matching long gloves that went up most of her arms, about an inch or two over her elbows. They looked over the edge of the building at the two boys, watching their targets with the eyes of predators.

The one black looked to her sister and asked, "So Fiona, is that them?"

The other girl named Fiona placed her hand on her sister's bare shoulder and looked down at the boys with a smile curling at both ends of her mouth. "Yes, Tetra. They are, two of them at least. The smaller one appears to be the one that Daddy is interested in."

"I see….ugh do we really have to go to this miserable little academy with all of these low lifes? They're nothing but scum under our feet. It'd be easier to just kill them all now." The girl named Tetra protested with a pout on her face.

"Yes well, those are our orders. We're just meant to observe, for now. Besides, why dirty our perfectly manicured nails when we could rule this school instead? Let's have some fun with them, while we can." Fiona said with a grin as she looked down at her nails which were painted a powder pink. Her sister's were red.

"Hmm, that sounds like that could be fun. Being worshipped as beauty queens perhaps? All the while we can work to make their lives as miserable as possible!" Tetra said delightfully.

"Now you're getting in to the spirit! We'll play games with them to our own delights until Daddy lets us really tear in to them." Fiona said with a smile.

"I love the way that mind of yours works, sister." Tetra said as she held out her hand and made a whip appear out of thin air, she then cracked it playfully making a loud sharp popping noise echo overhead.

Nezz and Neil were almost inside when Nezz looked up and asked, "Hey, did you hear something?"

"Hm? No, I don't think so. Maybe you're just imagining things." Neil said then yawned a bit, "C'mon let's call it a night. I'm tired, and tomorrow is our first day back."

The next day Nezz, Momiji, and Neil all quickly got dressed and headed to school on their first day back for the new semester. They were also met by Ayane and Mei at the front doors of the dormitory; from there the five secret knights apprentices headed off to school. Not only had things looked like they had completely turned back to normal, it seemed as if there were even more students than before. There were many new faces in the crowds. "Wow! I bet this semester is going to be even more fun than the last one!" Momiji exclaimed excitedly throwing his hands up in the air. As always, he was an endless pool of energy and enthusiasm.

The group of knights looked on in awe at one particular sight. There seemed to be a big group of excited people surrounding Sayako, they could even make out some requests for her autograph amidst all of the noise. Nezz then heard a familiar voice call out his name from behind and less than a second later he felt a pair of arms wrap around his neck and a girls soft curves pressed in to his backside. "Oh! It's been way too long! I've missed you sooo much!" Satsuki said happily as she practically clung to Nezz then moved around to his front side.

Nezz smiled and laughed a bit shyly, "Heh, it's good to see you too Satsuki. So, how was your winter vacation?" he asked.

Mei grinned mischievously and said, "Well, I think we'll leave you two love birds alone." She then started to push Neil and Momiji along, even if they didn't want to. Ayane walked with them as well. Mei forcibly moved the rest of the knights away before Nezz could even protest or say a word about it. She also looked over her shoulder and gave a small encouraging grin at Satsuki.

Satsuki smiled back as a way of saying thank you. She then looked back to Nezz and and pouted playfully as she replied, "Oh it was so long and boring without you…but I did learn lots of new things from Mom though."

"Oh really….um like…what?" Nezz asked, he wasn't quite sure if he wanted the answer, knowing that her mom was a succubus and what sort of things she could have been teaching.

Satsuki grinned at him and said, "Oh…I see. You've got impure thoughts in your head, hm? Hehe, good to see my succubus ways are starting to work on you. Is it because you missed me?" She asked and then gave a sexy pose in front of him then winked.

Nezz blushed and said, "N-no, I was thinking anything like that. I was just curious. Anyways, cut it out. People are starting to stare."

"Well to tell you the truth, Mom actually taught me more ways to use my succubus powers, more specifically how to use them to fight. I figured that I should learn a few things so that I can help you and the others." Satsuki told him honestly. She then wrapped her arms around his, pushing it between her boobs and adding, "Anyways, let them stare if they want! It tells all these new girls that you are mine and of limits."

"Oh I see….well I think they're more interested in your roommate at the moment." Nezz said, pointing out to Sayako who was still in the middle of the crowd. It seemed like she liked it for the most part. "What's up with that anyways?"

"Oh yeah, they all saw her on TV that time we went to that station to stop that…you know, angel guy. They saw her and now they're treating her like some huge celebrity. Seems like the journalism club is loving it. She told me that since then, they've had a huge spike in interest from people wanting to join."

"Oh, well that's good, I guess. Heh. Better her than me and the others. I hope it doesn't come back to bite her though." After that the pair went on in to the school building and headed upstairs to their classroom. They walked through the second floor hall together when they noticed a familiar dark blue haired demon princess coming around the corner rather quickly.

"Oh, it's Aiko." Nezz pointed out. She actually seemed a little flustered, which was very unlike her.

"Oh yeah. Hey, what's up Princess!" Satsuki called out to get her attention.

Aiko's head quickly turned in their direction, her eyes growing wide as if she had finally something she had been looking for. "Finally." Aiko said in relief and walked over to Nezz and without warning grabbed him by wrapping her arms around his neck and pulling her with him so that she was against the wall and his body was pressed against hers, covering her. She looked around and quickly lowered her face and buried it in to his chest. She held him by his neck tightly so that he couldn't pull away. "Now put your arms around me and act natural." She told him in a quiet voice.

"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing!?" Satsuki exclaimed when saw this bizarre and sudden action.

Nezz blinked a little in shock and asked, "Wh-what's going?" He put his arms around her like she had said though, he wasn't sure why though.

"Shh, be quiet." Aiko said then grabbed Satsuki by the collar and pulled her closer to try and hide herself more. Aiko then laid her head on Nezz's shoulder, facing away from the direction she had come from. It was then that a tall muscular handsome demon student with long silky black hair and dark eyes walked by. He was looking around as if he was searching for someone he couldn't find. He eventually passed them and walked around the corner and down the stairs.

Aiko watched him out of the corner of her eye and sighed in relief when he was gone. She released her hold around Nezz's neck and pulled away. "Perhaps now I can have a moment's peace. I swear, such a relentless person." She said out loud but not as if it was to anyone in particular.

"What was that all about?" Nezz asked Aiko curiously.

"Yeah! What gives!?" Satsuki asked as she wrapped her arms around Nezz possessively with a frown.

Aiko looked over at Satsuki with a slightly annoyed look and said, "It's not as if it's any of your business, but that boy is a demon nobleman who is driving me insane and will not leave me alone. It's been like this for days."

"Wow, is that why he's here at school? Did he enroll just to be around you?" Nezz asked curiously.

Aiko closed her eyes and nodded slowly, "I'm afraid so. He's so stubborn and single minded that it's exhausting."

Satsuki grinned a little and said, "Ah I see. Hehe, you've got yourself a stalker! That's it, right?"

Aiko looked up at Satsuki again with an annoyed look. She didn't like Satsuki making light of a situation she knew nothing about. "No, he is not a stalker. He's…none of your business." Aiko said.

"He's a suitor." Sayako said with a grin. Her voice making the trio look over to the girl who had come up the stairs only a few moments ago. Sayako had been able to get away from her fan club for at least a little bit. As always, she had her camera in hand. "That's it isn't it?" Sayako asked as she looked down at her camera and pressed the save button. "By the way, I recorded that whole little hugging thing a moment ago. That was so cute! I've gotta show that to Mei."

"Oh wow!" Nezz said then looked back at Aiko and asked, "Is that really it? He was a suitor for you?"

Aiko looked away silently and nodded, "Yes, and an annoying one at that." There was obviously more to the story, but Aiko was in no mood to explain the situation.

"Well I think that's great! You two should totally get married right away so that you can go back to your castle and live happily ever after. That way you're gone and won't hang around my Nezz anymore." Satsuki said with a small grin on her face. She was joking of course, well mostly.

Aiko's eyebrows furrowed more, it was the beginning of the new semester and the succubus seemed to be pressing her buttons over and over again. It was starting to infuriate her more than that suitor. She knew that was what she wanted, but Aiko wouldn't give her the pleasure. "Like I said, it's really none of your business. These are concerns a commoner like you would never understand." Aiko said in her usual calm and collected voice.

Aiko then started to turn to go towards the classroom; it was almost time for class to begin. She then paused though and looked over at Nezz, her deep blue eyes narrowing a bit. She reach out and placed her palm on his chest a bit and looked in to his eyes, "I see…you've grown stronger since we've last met." She commented. Perhaps that was her way of giving a compliment, there was really no telling with Aiko.

"You can tell that just by looking at me?" Nezz asked in surprise.

"I can sense it." Aiko replied then walked towards their classroom before the guy she was evading showed up again. She stopped and looked over at Satsuki and added, "Your boobs have gotten bigger too."

Sayako and Nezz looked over at Satsuki at the same time. She grinned a little and shrugged. "Heh, just a little bit."

Meanwhile Ayane and Mei both sat in their classroom at their desks together, waiting for the teacher to show up and for class to begin. Mei sat back in her chair and looked over to Ayane who was sitting beside her and asked, "So, how do you think things will go on this semester? Think we will have anything as crazy happen as last time?"

"I really hope not. I also hope all those boys in that kendo club will leave me alone this time." Ayane said, shaking her head a bit.

"Hehe, well that's what you get for showing them all up the way you did. They now want you to be their mentor." Mei pointed out while grinning. "Hm, speaking of which…none of them came up and bowed to you and called you Sensei today, did they? I wonder why."

"I don't know, but whatever it is I hope it continues." Ayane said. Ayane then looked up and noticed all the girls outside the door were crying out and going a little insane. "Oh boy, there's that vampire doing his thing on the new girls. I swear those girls are so dumb, getting worked up over something so shallow."

"Probably, he can be a good guy when he wants to be, but overdoes that whole vampire act." Mei said then looked over at Ayane and added, "Although, speaking of people and their acts. Why are you wearing that boy's uniform again? You looked so cuuuttteee in the girl's uniform."

"Hmph, I just didn't want any of these new guys getting any ideas. Besides, you know I don't like those silly girly clothes." Ayane answered simply. The two girls looked up as the group of girls continued to make a big deal out of Kano. At least that's what they thought, but it wasn't him they were going on about. A new student walked through the door and quietly walked over to one of the empty seats and sat down. He was a slim boy with feathery silver hair and blue eyes. He wasn't alone though. He was soon followed by the tall handsome demon boy who had been searching for Aiko. He looked around the classroom, hoping she would be in the same class as he was.

"Hm, looks like we were wrong huh? I guess Kano now has some competition. That should make things fun." Mei said light heartedly. Ayane and Mei continued to talk about various things as more of their classmates entered the room. It wouldn't be too long before the classes began.

The two twin sisters, Fiona and Tetra, walked throughout the school as if they owned the place. Everywhere they walked, heads turned by both guys and girls. Guys on account of there being two hot twins walking by; of course the girls noticed this which made them look as well. The two girls looked to each other and exchanged small grins, they sure did love to make an entrance and get attention. They walked in to their classroom and looked around for a moment. They spotted Ayane and Mei on the other side of the classroom talking.

Tetra looked over to her sister and whispered, "Hey, they're two of them. What do you say we go…introduce ourselves?"

Fiona nodded and the twins walked over to the two female nights and stood over them, looking down at them. "My my, what do we have here, sister?" Fiona asked, looking to Tetra.

"Hmm, it looks like a butch cross dresser and her ugly girlfriend with no fashion sense. I swear, I didn't know we'd have to be seeing such fashion disasters when we came here." Tetra said.

"Don't worry, dear sister. We must endure it all!" Fiona teased, hoping that their taunts and insults would bug the two girls.

Ayane and Mei looked up at the two twin girls and then to eachother, giving a questioning look to one another. Mei looked up at the girls and asked, "Umm, do we know you two or something?" Mei wasn't sure why these girls were so mean, but they were obviously blind. She had impeccable fashion sense.

"Yeah, what do you want?" Ayane asked, not really caring too much about these petty girls. They were obviously prissy girly girls; their opinions made no difference to her.

The two twins chuckled a bit and Fiona said, "What do we want? Nothing. Nothing at all. We merely wished to introduce ourselves to the rest of our dear classmates. I am Fiona."

"Yes, and I am her sister Tetra. We're the Diva sisters." Tetra said and then the two girls walked together in to the middle of the room and took two desks in the center of the room. What better place to be the center of attention?

"Well….that was weird?" Mei said, speaking quietly enough so only Ayane could hear. "That has to be the rudest and most self absorbed introduction I've ever heard."

"Yeah, weird." Ayane agreed. "And here I thought that Aiko had been brought up spoiled and pretentious."

Tetra looked over to her sister and asked, "Well, do you think we got under their skin at all?" The twin girls also spoke very quietly in whispers so that no one else could hear.

Fiona frowned and shook her head a bit, "No, I don't think so." She then smirked a little and added, "But that's alright; something that juvenile might have an impact with a lesser opponent, but not them. They wouldn't be worthy enough enemies to kill otherwise. We simply made ourselves visible to them. Don't worry, we will find the weak point in their little group and exploit it."

"Sounds good. I'd rather enjoy playing around with them to entertain ourselves while we're here in this dump." Tetra replied then looked around at many of the boys who were staring at the two fabulous twins and grinned a little. "It looks like we will have a ready supply of doormats to use as well."

"The human ones at least, I don't want to even associate with these disgusting foul demons." Fiona said as she cringed at the thought. Tetra nodded in agreement.

The homeroom teacher soon entered the classroom and welcomed everyone to the new semester, along with the new students. Before getting started he asked for the new students to come to the front of the classroom and introduce themselves. Four students walked up to the front. The silvery haired boy and dark haired demon noble the girls had gone wild over and the Diva sisters.

The silver haired boy stepped forward first and gave a humble bow before rising up and said in a soft gentle voice, "Hello there. My name is Shiro, it's very nice to meet all of you." This made many of the girls get little pink hearts in their eyes.

The taller dark haired demon male had a similar effect. He bowed in a dignified manner and spoke in a sophisticated and confident manner. "Greetings. I am Dorian Blackfire, of the Blackfire family. It is a pleasure to be here at Yamakawa Academy."

The twin girls were then allowed their turn. They introduced themselves of course as Fiona and Tetra Diva. All the guys eyed them with great interest. Except that is for the other two new students. Shiro and Dorian showed no real interest in either of them. The teacher then asked for the rest of the students to welcome the new students to the academy and to help them become well adjusted. He then had them return to their seats and class began for the new semester.
