Life's Journey

Turning around bright eyes

Let me see the scars that corrupt your face

Behind that smile I smell the pain

Blood and scars, accessories

Proof that you've gone insane

This world has not been gracious

You've come to the end of your rope

Climbing the mountain of Isolation, and

Riding back down through the Valley of Despair

You've yet to find your peace

Hunger pains grow deeper; your thirst makes you sob

You search for that river for replenishment with the bread of life

"Wash away my sorrows and fill me with happiness once more"

Shouting away to God, waiting for his listening ear

Seeing the sun finally set, you become lonely

For years, Death has followed me with his voice

Pain has had you in his grip, with Fear on your back

Relief, Please sweet Relief find me soon, I beg

I've been fighting this battle for what feels like eternality

I've reached my end and Victory is no longer my friend
