When you're so alone it hurts, the light turned to shadows around you, you're never expecting for someone to lift you up with promises of sunlight. But sometimes, you don't have to be alone.

To the friend who doesn't know yet what her friendship did for me.
SUNLIT HEART
I was in the shadows
Lies reflect in the windows
Everyone thought I was alright
I pretended and cried in the night
And then one day
You turned me another way
You pulled me out of my hole
Made me feel life was gold
And I can feel the start
You opened up my heart
I know you'll be the one
To sit with in the sun
When I talk you don't stare
We're a perfect pair
We can watch the water glimmer
Sleep as the light goes dimmer
Maybe it won't last
But I don't let go of the past
Dressed with shining things
Or hair ruffled by swings
No promises
But two necklaces
I thought I was alone
And I was wrong
Bound by sunlight
I have my friend
