You're my first but I'm not yours.

I'm the best, you reassures

And, meeting your softened gaze,

The truth cedes me in a daze.

Hanging out with you all day

Is wonderful all the way.

But, watching the time slip by,

It soon comes to say good-bye.

I hold you closer to me

For I had to leave you be

'Cause it was my bout to part

Once time struck ten to depart.

I beseech out to whomever

To freeze time now forever.

But, like always, no one heeds

To me nor my begging pleads.

Yet the day was grand, it's true

Because I was there with you.
