your glamour fades fast away
wears down at your elbows and
the corner of your eyes
and the bottom of your feet;
reveals your true colours -
the faded grey of your lips
and the hard blue
that still haunts around your fingertips.
you used to be a million colours
a billion brilliant shades to reflect the sun
but you didn't expect the sunset to drain
and steal away your beauty.

you
you used to be
wondrous

but now
you're just a black
and blue shadow
hanging yourself on the wall,
stitching yourself to my
feet.
