Just let me breathe
Can't you just let me be?
I want to stay
Right here in my twisted reality
Why do you have to push me?
Can't I just gather my strength?
Don't make me step into the sunlight
I'm not ready to go outside
Please,
Please just let me breathe
Can't you leave me right here
In my pathetic reverie?
The sun is so bright
It's burning my eyes
Burning my skin
Why did I give in?
Your touch, it also burns my skin
I feel it melting away
My darkness being penetrated by the sun's bright gaze
Your bright gaze
I'm left with a new skin,
Pure
And bright
And clean
I'm ready to step into the sunlight
I want to hear the birds sing
I want to feel the sunlight
And dream
Of the day
That wedding bells ring.
