School's Life Lessons

School isn't just for learning English, science, and math.

To the average person school is a place you listen and soon forget, accidently or otherwise.

To the careful observer you pick up on little pieces of advice that you may or may not be aware of.

In Homeroom there's a food drive, a contest that is tough.

As the food piles up the homerooms tension grows.

Till the announcements come on "Mrs. Brigham's class has won" a cheer arises.

In English class stories are a must.

A mysterious Christmas tree, the worst hair day ever, and more dog stories than you could shake a stick at.

In math we face many problems- no pun intended-

To help us with our formulas, Mrs. Scholand has devised a clever song to the tune of the wheels on the bus.

The wheels on the bus are . The wheels on the bus are, all through the town.

The song includes the formulas for a rectangle, triangle, square, rhombus, circle, and the big finish.

And now we are all trapped inside, trapped inside, trapped inside, and that's just like a trapezoid which is Brilliant right?

Oh Science, story central. Stories about tsunamis, scoliosis, ammonia, fault lines,

Wait that wasn't a story, Mike just wanted to know what it was like to live in a fault line. Don't ask.

At lunch it's always fun, there was a story involving moss, milk and a blender.

A metaphor made by Mrs. Mahoney "McKenzi is a black rose, all prickle and thorn"**

But it's my friend's pole theory that takes the cake. She thinks that poles move of their own accord. Confused?

Picture it; you walk through a door frame everyday it never changes, well one day you're not paying much attention and SMACK! **. You ram into the door frame. It's not your fault though, the door frame moved by its self just so you would smack into it.

So you see when you're at school you don't just learn the usual subjects. You learn life lessons, for instance, don't trust you sibling to cut your hair. Bad idea!

Never deeply inhale anything when you're around chemicals, especially if it looks like water because chances are its ammonia and you'll black out.

And don't ever, ever, ever decide that doorframes and poles move by themselves.

You can get so much out of these stories that are mainly for your entertainment, because somewhere deep inside there is a little gem of wisdom, and common sense, that you'll carry with you for the rest of your life, even if you don't mean to.
