One word... IB.
Otherwise known the death of any social life you may have had before. God, the homework, the lectures... oh God! Please kill me! No friends except the complete losers in your class, the nerds, the geeks, the future doctors (Good luck mates!) and then there is me... The actually-has-to-work-her-ass-off-to-get-good-grades-girl and the smartasses, I hate them the most.
Ok, so you're probably wondering when the hell this gets interesting, right?
It was the day back from Spring break (Which I spent doing homework, but I won't even go there.)I waited patiently for the bell to ring in my desk, scribbling down a bit of homework I hadn't yet finished. I was desperately trying to write down all the answers in my head but my hand just wasn't moving fast enough.
Mr. Younge came into the class, I didn't even notice the new student he held by the shoulder. I heard gasps from several of the girls and even the guys looked up from their work. I was still busy writing down all I could but when I looked up there was nothing in my mind other than holy shit.
You know that really cliché scene that happens in movies when the girl looks up at the guy for the first time? When her blonde hair blows nicely behind her framing her face, she bats her beautiful eye lashes, everything goes in slow motion, she squishes her boobs together, you can hear her heart thumping in her ears and it's just soooooooo romantic.
Well, if you can picture the exact opposite of that that was me. I had my light brown hair pulled into a messy bun, I wore my glasses- which resemble to needle pointing glasses without the various gems on the sides- absolutely no makeup on, my shirt was underneath my heavy school sweat shirt with the logo on it, I had jeans on with sneakers. I felt like a dork looking down to my worn shoes, feeling a warm rush on my face and immediately I knew I was blushing.
I started to sweat nervously so I played it cool and decided to concentrate on my work again. This task however proved god damn impossible, the stupid/smart girls in my class were giggling and whispering to each other, which meant that once again I was out of the loop. Wow even in IB? I thought.
Meanwhile the dark haired piece of man candy was staring right at me, his gorgeous blue eyes searching my hazel ones, little pieces of dark brown hair were hanging in his face, in a very cute way. He was tall, about 6'1 maybe? I could spy some muscles hidden under his striped polo shirt, and he was wearing dark jeans and skater shoes.
Hot. My lips parted and I think I started salivating, realizing this I licked my lips... just as he looked at me, he grinned and winked. Oh no, what the hell did I just do? But his grin is so sexy. I thought. I continued to look down onto my paper, my face getting redder by the second. I looked up every once in a while to find him just looking away from me. What the hell is going on? Since when do guys like girls like me? I thought confused.
Mr. Younge started talking about welcoming the new student into the class room and blah blah blah, I didn't really pay any attention to what he was saying, all I could do was stare at the perfection in front of me.
Mr. Younge left and Mr. Hotness, beautiful, sugar, lovely faced, sexy man, hunk of gorgeousness... I'm getting carried away... Anyways, he stood there awkwardly until everyone resumed to their work, that is everyone except me, I stared at him dumbfounded unable to move. Imagining my fingers stroking his jaw, our lips pressing together.
I bit my lip trying to not run up to him, wrap my legs around his waist and rip his shirt off.
"Take a picture it will last longer." A male voice said.
"And I will frame it and put it on my nightstand." I said subconsciously quoting The Mortal Instruments.
"If you want I'll sign it too."
"I would love you to." I said sarcastically, trying to make my voice sound annoyed. I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing that I was really doing cartwheels in my head because he had talked to me.
"Well, my name is Connor, yours? Oh and nice... Mortal Instruments, good book."
I must have looked surprised because he laughed.
"What's the matter, are you not used to hot guys who are into books?" He asked, a smile tugging at his lips.
"No...To tell you the truth I didn't see you as one of them." I said.
"A book reader?" I tried not to laugh at his grammar.
I looked up from my writing and pushed my glasses further up on my nose.
"No, a hot guy." I tried my hardest not to smile.
He chuckled a bit. "Ouch. I guess I walked right into that one didn't I?"
I nodded in response; a small smile crept on my lips as I looked down to finish my work. Math. What a horrible subject.
"So, I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name?" He said.
"I didn't throw it yet." I said casually, again trying my hardest not to burst out laughing. I was never the sarcastic type but today seemed different, and it wasn't just because a very hot guy was actually speaking with me.
He threw his head back and started laughing again.
"Hahah, ok, ok smartass. What is the lovely maiden's name? Hmmm." He grabbed my hand and kissed the top of it which sent shivers all the way down my spine.
"C-Casey." I managed to stammer out."
"A lovely name for an even lovelier maiden." He replied smiling.
I blushed and I felt like kicking myself for it.
"Is this seat taken?"He paused then said "No? Good." He pulled up a chair next to me, not even waiting for my answer.
"You know..." I said "You must be the most desperate guy I've ever met."
"Not desperate, I just know a good catch when I see one." He winked at me and it caught me off guard.
"So that's all I am?" I said continuing the word game "A good catch?"
"When did I say that?"
"Two seconds ago." I replied flatly.
"Oh..." he looked down. For a moment he was silent then his eyes lit up and he said "Soooo... Casey-" I interrupted him.
"Isn't this a bit early to hit on me? We don't even know each other." I said desperately trying to copy down the equation on the board at the front.
"I don't think so, I know your name don't I? And you know mine, Connor. What more would I have to know to hit on you?" He replied smugly.
"My favorite color is blue and gray." He said.
"Good for you?" "And just so you know, that's two colors."
"Ah, that would be why you're in IB I assume? I'm just trying to get to know you better, what's your favorite color? Wait no, let me guess...hmmmm" he sat in thought for a long time then finally said "Red!"
"Wrong. Guess again." I said smiling.
"Is it... blue?" He guessed.
"Yeah." I said looking down at the equation stretched out over my page, it was complicated. Hell if I knew what "x" was. For some reason I was having trouble with this although it was simple grade nine stuff.
Connor was silent for a moment.
"Sooo... now that we know each other a bit better... can I hit on you?" he asked smirking.
The nerve of this guy! But I have to admit that I liked how forward yet cute he was.
I smiled, closed my book and said "Good-bye Connor." Just as I did the bell for class change rang, making an ugly- more like buzzing- sound. I slipped into the hallway before he could even say good bye. I started to make my way to my next class when I felt someone grabbing my wrist.
Annoyed I tried to keep going, but the grip on my wrist was tight. I stopped walking and turned to find myself lost in Connor's eyes. I jerked my arm back weakly. He chuckled and then he asked "Hey, do you know where room 12 is?"
He showed me his time table pointing to slot B on day two.
"Yeah... It's just over there, down the hall, across from the library." I said walking away from him, pointing in the general direction of the class room. Oh crap... I thought looking at his time table again.
"Today is day three you dumbass. You're in room 26. Science." I said. "Unfortunately I'm there too." I mumbled under my breath.
I took a closer look at his time table he was in almost every class with me, no, every single class, IB science, IB math and IB English as well as cooking and Geography. Incredible I thought, this was going to be a LONG semester.
