Can you see behind the mask I use to hide my tears?
The personality I use to cover my fears
And most basic insecurities?
Can you even tell that something is wrong?
Or are you like the rest, who can't
And press harder and harder onto me
Until I feel ready to scream
Or ready to die
Do you even notice when I'm down?
Do you know when I need to smile?
Do you know that every day I cry as I shut the door
Finally able to release my feelings
Before a knife can touch me
And wound me further?
And can you tell
That I'm depressed?
And that no one out there cares to help
And so I remain
Forever silenced
Forever hopeless
