Miley blushed and avoided eye contact with Taylor. "Erm...sure. What time?" Miley muttered, like it was no big deal at all.

"Whatever time you finish your work at Taylor's. I'll come pick you up if you want," Nick offered. This startled Miley a little. She sat up straight as a frown appeared on her face. "I didn't know you could drive," She told him.

"Well now you know. I just don't drive around much. I prefer walking, but I'd rather pick you up than have you walking around in the dark. You know how dangerous roads can be a night," There was a slight teasing tone in Nick's voice that made Miley blush even more.

"Oh...erm...yeah, okay. Pick me up at seven then?" Miley turned another page, ignoring the stare that Taylor was giving her.

"Sure. I'll see you then beautiful," Nick said his goodbye before hanging up. Miley handed the phone back over to Taylor who had a smirk on her face. "What?" Miley asked innocently.

"Oh please! Don't give me that crap. What did Nick want?" Taylor questioned. Miley shrugged and looked down at the magazine. "Nothing, just wanted me to go round his house is all," Miley breathed out. She wanted to seem cool about it, when really, she was freaking out on the inside. In a good way though.

"Oh really? Do you plan to spend the night?" Taylor laughed evilly. Miley's head snapped up, her cheeks turning even more red. "What? No! Ew! Taylor! I've only been with him for a few days!" Miley tried to laugh it off. Taylor raised an eyebrow sceptically. "Oh come on! Tell me that you haven't thought about that," Taylor leant forward a little. Miley looked down at her hands. "No, I haven't..." She muttered. Taylor leant back and clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "Suree...Anyway, come on. We need to find your dress. What princess do you want to be?" Taylor smiled as she looked down at the magazine again.

The whole week became a blur to Miley. Especially with all the masquerade planning and everything that needs to be organised. Oh! And you can't forget Nick pestering her all week to come to the ball, and she said the same answer, "No." Though she had her dress, knew exactly what hairstyle she was going to have, she has the make-up and the shoes; all of which were at Taylor's of course. She was going, Nick just didn't know about it. She heard Taylor walking up to her, so she turned around and grinned at her. It was the night before the masquerade, and they had just finished setting up.

"Whoa...I've never seen a school hall look so golden before! The staircase looks amazing! The whole room looks amazing!" Taylor gasped. Miley grinned as she took in her hard work. There were flowers decorated on the banisters and all along the walls, glitter was on the floor, the tables, there was a chandelier hanging from the ceiling (a cheap one of course to fit the school budget), the lights were set to a golden and pink glow so the white walls and floor looked like they were painted gold. She had done herself proud. "I have one question though," Taylor wondered. Miley turned to her, and let her continue. "Where will we be eating tomorrow? Where will the food be sold?" Taylor wondered.

Miley laughed; trust her to think about the food. "No, we go home at twelve because a majority of the girls kept complaining about not having enough time to get ready if we finish school at normal time," Miley rolled her eyes. Taylor shrugged as once again, she took in the view around her. "Will people see this before tomorrow night?" Taylor questioned. Once again, Miley shook her head. "Nope, the windows will be covered up and all the doors will be locked, so no-one will see this till tomorrow night. Gosh, I'm so excited!" Miley squealed as she spun around on the spot. She would finally get to experience the ball! And with Nick as a date!

"Hey wait a minute. Who is your date?" Miley wondered. Taylor motioned locking her lips and throwing away the key. "You'll have to wait till tomorrow night to find out," She laughed, "Anyway, are you coming? It's time we got home, it's late. My mum can give you a ride back." Miley nodded, taking one last glance at the room before both her and Taylor headed out of the room. The cleaners would lock the doors in the morning.

Miley waved Taylor and her mum off and watched them drive away. She wasn't planning on going inside though. She had something that she wanted to do. She walked down the steps and made her way to town. It was around ten o'clock when she had got there, but she tried to keep her head up high and made sure she was on full alert. Her ears started picking up loud, booming music from the club 'Sunrise' which was in town. That was where she was headed...even though it was for over eighteen's only.

There was a line to get in there, as with most clubs, and a bouncer. Miley stood there for a while, debating whether or not to go through with this. She took a deep breath in, allowing the cold night air to fill her lungs before she walked up to the bouncer. He glanced at her and asked for ID. "I'm sorry, I don't have any ID, I hope that won't be a problem," Miley wondered as she raised an eyebrow. She saw the bouncer giving her a quizzical expression, so Miley slowly pulled her shirt down a little to show off some cleavage. The bouncer took one look down and then nodded. "Sure, you can go in," He told her, stepping out of the way of the door. The people in the line started moaning, but Miley ignored them and walked inside.

The music was deafening and darkness surrounded her. The only light that was in there was the strobe lights, glow sticks and glow paint. People were going crazy in here; probably because of the drugs and alcohol that were present. But Miley ignored all this and stared at all the faces of the people, trying to look for familiarities. There were so many people inside that it seemed almost impossible to do her task, but then she set eyes on a pair of familiar brown orbs. That was the person that she was looking for.
