Soul (sohl]) noun:
1. The spiritual part of humans regarded in its moral aspect, or as believed to survive death and be subject to happiness or misery in a life to come; arguing the immortality of the soul.
2. The emotional part of human nature; the seat of the feeling or sentiments.
3. A human being; person
The shattering starts.
It starts with anything, really.
Some start with insults,
Behind your back,
In your face,
When they think you're not looking.
Their words haunt you all the time.
They're always there.
To haunt your days,
To darken your nightmares,
To infiltrate your dreams;
They're always nagging you.
Others start because of love.
They make you weak.
They make you stronger.
They teach you lessons;
Lessons essential in life.
It's bad, real bad.
It gives advantage to the other.
He (she) could break you so easily.
He (she) could kill two birds in one shot;
Your soul and your heart.
You'd want it to end.
Some say the eyes are the windows to the soul.
Then why is it that when people look at you, they don't see the real you?
They don't see the pain in your eyes,
They don't see the little child screaming for your help,
They only see the smile.
But they don't know a smile can hide so much pain and so many tears.
They don't know the smile shows a lie while the eyes show the truth.
They prefer believing the beautiful lie than the painful truth.
Because they are superficial beings,
Limiting themselves to believing with their eyes,
When instead they should feel with their heart.
And meanwhile, you are lost,
Wondering the outskirts of the path of life
That you can clearly see before you,
But can't seem to reach.
When your soul is gone, what is left of you?
