Our Modern Day Princess and the Pauper

Author's Note: Here is a new story idea that has been poking around in my brain, and I feel like I need to get it out. It's been a while since I wrote a new story, so a new story to kick off the summer off right.
And finals are over! I am so happy! And summer awaits, and I am so ready to make so many summer memories with my best friends. No school, no stress, no worries.
I am using actors and actresses to portray my characters because when I use real people I can picture the story going on in my head.

Overview: It's called Our Modern Day Princess and the Pauper. This story is about Princess Sandra Rosella Estrada Alonso Fiore. She is the princess of a small island nation called Costa Estrella. Before her coronation, her island was attacked by General Mendez and his dim-witted brother and assistant: Enrique. Princess Sandra managed to escape but her parents were captured.
While in hiding, she was rescued by FBI Special Agent Robert Morgan. She was informed by the FBI, that they have been trying to apprehend General Mendez and Enrique for several years. The FBI gave Sandra a full make-over, changed her name to Sandy Del-Valle, and have her move in with Special Agent Morgan and his son: Cameron in Toronto to keep her under the radar.
When Sandy arrived Cameron was less than welcoming. Cameron believes that all princesses are materialistic and self-involved. But, soon Cameron learns that a real princess is kind and will do anything for her country and for her people. And, when Cameron learns the situation Sandy is in he tries his best to help her live a normal life and to hide her from General Mendez.

Zoey Deutch as Sandy Del- Valle (Princess Sandra Rosella Estrada Alonso Fiore): The royal princess of Costa Estrella who is in hiding from General Mendez and Enrique.

Dylan Everett as Cameron "Cam" Morgan: Special Agent Morgan's son and believes all princesses are materialistic and stuck-up. But finds that he has growing feelings for Sandy as he teaches Sandy how to be a normal girl and protect her from harm.

Avan Jogia as Andrew "Drew" Oliver: Bennett High's resident popular boy who is very vain and has a crush on Sandy for mostly her beauty.

Megan Park as Chelsea Brooks: Bennett High's resident queen bee and is obsessed with being popular, and sees Sandy as a direct threat to that.

Tom Verica as FBI Supervisory Special Agent Robert Morgan: Robert is Cam's father and responsible for Sandy's safety.

Johnny Ray Rodriguez as General Nico Mendez: A former military general obsessed with conquering Costa Estrella.

Valente Rodriguez as Enrique Mendez: General Mendez's brother and very clueless when it comes to being the bad guy, but supports his brother either way.

ALERT: Loosely based around the movie Princess Protection Program.
DISCLAIMER! I DO NOT OWN any of the actors or actresses I may use in my story.

Queen Sandra's Point of View

Costa Estrella (May 19, 2022)

Costa Estrella is a very small island nation that is not on most maps. It is very small and very unimportant to larger nations, but it is very important to me. I am Queen Sandra Rosella Estrada Alonso Fiore. And I am Queen of Costa Estrella, and formely a royal princess. My nation was attacked by a selfish man who was hungry for power.

I lost so much that was important to me that day. I was so lonely. I had lost my identity, but I knew that deep inside of me I still know that I am a royal princess.

My daugther: Jade ran into the garden and yelled "Mommy! Mommy!"

I turned around as I picked up my daughter and asked "What sweetie?"

"Can you tell me the story of how you and daddy met again?" "Again? I have told you that story so many times" I told her. "Please mommy" Jade said giving me the puppy dog eyes I could never say no to. "Ok" I told her as I sat on the bench in the garden as I placed Jade in my lap. "Once upon a time there was a beautiful island country called Costa Estrella..."

If I am going to tell you my story right, I need to start at the very beginning, the day of my coronation...

Costa Estrella (Present Day)

My father walked through town talking to many of our town's people. He is King Diego Juan Estrada Alonso Fiore; King of Costa Estrella. He does not like to be referred to as "king" rather he likes to be called "father", "brother", or "friend"

Once he finished talking to many of our citizens, he walked back to the castle. Once he made it inside of the castle, he found my mother standing in the grand hall as they decorated, he kissed her cheek and said "Hello my sweetheart. Are the preparations almost finished?"

"Yes my dear. Sandra is in her bedroom getting ready" My mother informed my father. My father coughed as my mother asked concerned "Did you take your medicine?"

"Yes my dear. I do not want to be sick when my daughter gets coronated" my father said. My father is very ill and is not in any condition to keep running Costa Estrella. It is now my responsibility.

I stood infront of my full-length mirror as I got ready for my coronation. My long light brown was put into an elegant up hairstyle as my bangs gently swept to the left side of my face. A pearl collar was placed around my neck. My ball gown was an elegant yellow. It was a strapless beaded bodice top and the bottom was long and flowing as my red sash was wrapped over my shoulder. My gloves went all the way up to my elbows. The ribbons of my black heels wrapped around my ankles.

I stop in front of the mirror with my hands folded in front of me as they placed my crown on my head.

Once they finished my attire I walked into the main hall ready to rehearse my coronation. As I walked into the main hall, I hugged my mother as she said "Are you ready mija?" "Yes mommy."

Mr. Velasquez; the royal dress maker walked up to us and said "You have a beautiful gown my princessa. And who may I asked designed it?" "You did Mr. Velasquez."

We smiled as my father was on the altar with the priest as he motioned me towards him as he said "Mijita it's time." I smiled as I walked up to the altar with the Queen's crown on the pedestal next to the throne.

"I present to you Princess Sandra Rosella Estrada Alonso Fiore, Queen of Costa Estrella" The priest said as he was about to place the crown on my head, but a sword was held to his throat. "Hand me the princessa or someone will get hurt."

"Run!" My father told me as he pushed me off the altar into my mother's arms. Panic surged through the main hall as many soldiers made their way in.

My mother and I ran but I saw my father on the ground as I yelled trying to reach out to him "Father!"

My mother and I ran through the back staircase and I asked her "Mommy what is happening?"

She told me "Mijita it's not safe here anymore. I knew General Mendez would do something like this. There is a helicopter outside and it is going to take you somewhere safe."

"But I am not leaving without you or father!" I protested. My mother placed a long gold locket around my neck and said "Mija, I must stay here with your father because we need to show General Mendez we are not going to give in to him. But, remember in your heart that you are always going to be a princess." My mother told me as I got tears in my eyes as she said "Te amo mijita. Now go!"

I ran as fast as my legs could take me to the courtyard, I saw the helicopter and got inside and I flew away. I looked back at my home and I saw it crumble before my eyes.

My mother watched the helicopter fly away as General Mendez found my mother. All my mother said "She's gone now. She's safe and you will never find her."

"We'll see about that" General Mendez said as he dragged my mother into dungeon.

I sat in that helicopter as tears flooded my eyes. Where am I going to go now?
