Max waited outside the princible's office. That's all she seemed to do these days. Okay so what if she wasn't exactly following every rule in his books but its not as if she was doing it ever day, maybe ever second. A girl needs a break now and then. And it's not as if she was doing anything that bad, she wasn't smoking pot or bullying anyone, she was just provoiding everyone with a well needed laugh. People around here take themselves too seriously. So what if she played a few not so harmless planks, it's not like there's anything else to do at school. Why was she here again? She hadn't done anything this time, maybe she had that spray paint in her bag use in art class. Of course she tried that excuse but they just reminded her that she didn't go to class. So here she was waiting once again, trying to think of a way to get more spray paint.
Suddenly Max's thoughts were broken by the sound of a door opening. Mitch Williams walked out of the office. Mitch must have been a head taller than Max. He was scawny but not in the exterme. He always wore his brown hair as if he just got out of bed, falling in front of his brown eyes. He had a sweet face and always seemed to be smiling even when he was in deep shit. "Not such a bad guy" she thought as he flashed her a grin, pretty creative when it comes to back talk and excuses.
"Hey hotstuff" she greeted him, cocking her heard to one side with an evil grin. He looked annoyed when she called him this, but Max liked her nickname for him so he was stuck with it. "Heard you took the lecture room door off it's hinges. Badass! Did it crush any teachers?"
"No such luck, fell the wrong way. I kinda forgot about that part. Still got in shit for it through" he answered, looking casual about it.
"Bad luck, man. Don't worry, next time come to me as I'm the master of the darkside." He laughed at this.
"If your the master of the darkside why dosen't anyone take you seriously? Your no futher into the darkside than me."
"Easy because I don't take myself seriously. I'm way futher than you and I'm only begining. I just need something to work with" as she finished her expression changed to one of deep throught.
"Well if you ever need help with that just ask" he said, staring at her with a confused expression.
"Your turn Max, I've done my time for today" he said, pointing at the door with his thumb.
"Planning on coming back? Fair enough. See you on the outside, hotstuff."
"See you, Max" he said and walked out of the waiting room. Max turned to face the door, she could bullshit her way out of this. She reached out, opened the door and sighed. It was like coming home.
Princible Howard, sat at his desk at the opposite side of the room. He was reading something, more than likely Mitch's file. Max closed the door behind her and started to tap her foot on the floor.
"Welcome back Max" he greeted her in a calm voice. She could tell right off what angle he was going for, friendly, relaetable, cool. He wasn't fooling anyone.
"Thanks for keeping down the fort, Frank, hope you haven't had any other girls over, you know how I get jealous" said Max as she crossed the room and fell into the chair.
"It's just bussiness, Max and we're here to discuss you. Why would you need spray paint during school? You weren't thinking of using it were you?"
"Actually I was pretty undecided, I was busy skipping class" she repiled, bordom creeping into her voice.
"I'll make this simple for you Max" he said, leening forward, dropping the act. Anger plain on his face "your walking a fine line at the moment, one wrong move, one toe over that line and I have something very speical in mind for you and your friends." Max could feel the angry bubbling up in her stomach, the way it did everytime someone tried to push her around. It was worse this time through.
Max answered by yawning and saying "you might want to polish up the horror routine a bit." She got up out of the chair and left without another word. She as not only going the cross his precious line, but dance on it.
Max decided to go the english class after that. She had a bit of trouble when the teacher asked her who she was. Finally Max convinced the teacher to let her stay but she didn't pay attention. She was drawing on scrap of paper and thinking hard. By the end of the class she had a plan.
As soon as the bell rang, Max ran out of the room and down the hall, pushing past people. As she made it into the cafateria, she stopped and looked around. The large square room was full of people sitting at tables and lining up the buy over priced food.
"Mitch!" she called over the crowd "Mitch!" She couldn't see him and there wasn't any answer. She knew what would get his attention but she really wished she didn't have to, but she was desperate.
"HOTSTUFF!" she yelled at the top of her voice. Every head in the cafateria turned in her direction.
"Yes, honey?" Mitch repiled form across the room. She could see the smart ass smiling at her. She franticly motioned at him to follow her into the hall. She could hear the voices erupt in the cafateria. That would take a bit of explaining.
She paced the hall waiting for him to come, thinking about how she was going to say this. Mitch finally came around the corner, laughing.
"I think that stunt might start some rumours" he commeted.
"Oh who cares" she snapped, rolling her eyes "Mitch, I need your help with something...big."
"How big?" he answered eagerly.
"Breaking the law big" she admited, staring into his eyes "but if it goes right you won't get caught. He'll know it's me straight away but that dosen't matter."
"But Max if you get caught-" he started to protest, but she interupted him.
"It dosen't matter!" she snapped, but she was smiling manicly. Mitch frowned, Max could she that he was thinking hard.
"What's the plan" he asked cautiously.
Max explained her plan to aquire more spray paint and give Princible Howard a little surpise. By the end his grin had returned.
"You in?" Max asked.
"I'm so in!"
