Stephen and Mina had been together for years, brought together by forces unseen they worked together well which was more than some could say. Stephen was a Mechanisim, from a race of creatures that were reclusive and rarely seen. Mina was an Operator, part of a race of people that lived in the clouds just below their Mechanisim brothers. Every year an Operator and a Mechanisim were bonded on pilgrimage, most would seperate after the journey and never cross paths again but in the case of Mina and Stephen things had been different.
In the beginning they had been like the others, in the beginning they had just been on a mutual journey together, in the beginning... The great war started and they couldn't go home, exposed to the elements of a world on the brink of death they were changed and were made new by a dying world. They had waited, waited for the war to end then sliped silently over the blood stained battlefield and turned their journey homeward. Their homes were closed to them, they were outcasts of their people and so they had stayed together whear all others had not.
They traveled and fought, making a name for themselves and making a deeper bond between each other.
The changes they had gone through had made them immortal, powerful and alone.
They turned to each other and fell in love, a love that had not been and now was. They made a home in the sanctuwary of their world, Blue City, a place of turmoile and strife but a good place nontheless. Making new friends and new names for themselves they loved and were loved well in return. At last they could rest, at last they could call a place home, after so many years was their life finally to know peace. No, alas they were brought into the war by the winds of change and so they fought, for the Blue City they called home, for the Friends they had made for the family they had made, they fought and fought and the war ended.
They turned their gaze tward home once again and this time they found peace, this time they found the lives they had wanted, the lives they had lost. Mina the Gun for hire, and Stephen the Head of a major crime family. They loved, they lived, they lost, but they got it all back, torn straight from the jaws of death they took it all back, and then some.
They raised their family, they lived good lives and were set to the stars at the end.
leaving behind a legacy of which was greater the when they started they, traveled onward, leaving behind all the pain and suffering of their dying world, now lit with the flame of hope, and they moved as one through the stars and they lived and let live because they were, are, and will be for all eternety, for such is the nature of the bonds of love.
The End
