I don't like night-time. I never have. Because daddy gets home at night-time. I don't like daddy – he's always shouting at mummy. He keeps breaking things. Yesterday he broke my favourite cup. Mummy tells me to stay in my bedroom and cuddle Ted, but I can still hear the horrible fights. I want me and mummy to leave, but she always says we can't. I don't understand, because I've seen him hit her. She says it is her 'duty,' whatever that means. It's why I don't want to grow up. I don't want it to be my 'duty' as well.
