Natalie Simone was an average girl with a normal life, at least, as far she can remember. On April 1, 2012 she found out her father was dead. But now she can't remember anything about her father's death or of her past. But that's not all that's weird. One moment she's in an orphanage, the next she's in a truck? Grace: Hey everybody! Here's chapter 2! Please enjoy!
"Is she going to wake up anytime soon?" The candy and chocolate voice said.
"She should be joining us any minute now. Her conscious levels are rising steadily. I would not be surprised if she heard us talking right now." It was that man in the car talking! I heard a snap of someone's fingers and a bucket of water was poured on my head.
"What was that for?" I snapped, my eyes flashing open.
"She's awake." The candy and chocolate voice said.
"Nah (censored), Sherlock!" I said my nostrils flaring.
"No need to get foul mouthed, Natalie. We were just checking on you." The C&C (candy and chocolate) man said.
"I think there are multiple good reasons for me to be bad mouthed right about now!" I yelled at him. I was furious, more than furious, blistering with anger and rage and confusion. I was lost, wet, cold, and confused. I was kidnapped yet he expected me to be fine! What kind of idiot thinks that's okay?
"Now Natalie, calm down. Just lie back down, and listen to me." C&C ordered. I did as he said, not wanting to cause any physical pain to myself. I slowly eased down so my back was resting against the crinkly white doctor paper they keep from spreading germs to the next patient in case they are sick.
Memory! I remember going to the doctor when I had caught the cold. The man had big hands and his hair was coming out, but he was nice and reassured me that it would be gone soon. I remember sitting on the white crinkly paper and feeling so tall, sitting above my father.
It feels like a lifetime ago. I wish I could be there again, when my only worry was if the cold would ever go away. "Natalie, we'll make a deal with you. You tell us where the heirloom is and we set you free. It'll be as if this whole thing has never happened. I will give you a nice home with a kind family. And all you have to do for me is give me a measly old journal." C&C said. The deal was almost perfect. There were only two problems: my father wouldn't be there and I contained not a clue what or where the "heirloom" might be. "Sir," I began, thinking it would be wiser to be collected and firm than angry and a mess. ", I have not a clue what this so called heirloom is, and even if I knew there would be no possible way I would give you the heirloom." I explained. I couldn't see any of their expressions because of their masks, but I could tell they were very, very peeved.
"Natalie, I will ask you again. PLEASE give me the heirloom!" C&C said getting louder.
"I don't know what the heirloom is! I don't know where it is! I have not a clue what you are talking about!" I said raising my voice as well.
The room's noise level suddenly stopped, it had never been so quiet ever before in my life. Have you ever heard the expression: so quiet you could hear a pin drop? Well that describes the moment, but you could probably hear a drop of water splashing on the ground.
Everything happened in a blur. The masked men grabbed my body and dragged me on the ground. They led me to a bucket right next to an electrical circuit. The bucket was entirely full of water, the leader I'm guessing (C&C) dunked my head in the bucket and then I felt something plunge into the water.
You remember that circuit I was talking about earlier? Apparently they plugged in something and plopped it in with me, because the next thing I knew my whole body was shaking vigorously. The water held the electrical currents for so long and the man held me under longer than the average person could their breath! I lost consciousness right as he pulled my hair's roots up.
