I doubt you, dear reader, we're alive yet either. But then my mom came along, with one of her closest friends. They were peace, prosperity, light, and truth. They brightened the world. Everything was okay. READ!

Chapter 2: Zandra/Zan

"Zayn! Stop it!" my sister yells at, Her obvious true love, Zayn.

"What? What am I doing?" he says back to her. They've been at it for at least 3 hours, and that's only been today so far. Nick came up to me and sat down on the ruined mattress we found in the basement of the log cabin we're staying in for the night.

"How long do you think that they're gonna keep this up?" He ask whisper's to me. I lean closer to him.

"Who knows? Remember the last time this happened?" Nick chuckled his dark laugh that always made me melt like a Popsicle on a hot day.

"I remember." He said simply. I looked him in the eyes, such a dark brown, they were almost black. Same with his hair! It was so dreamy. He looked back, he is so good at hiding his emotions! It's a annoying sometimes, but I love him anyway. He has, as you already know, the power over darkness and conflict. Which is awesome because it balances me out, same with Xoa and Zayn. He started to lean in, but Xoa just had to ruin the moment!

"Zan! You're the oldest! Tell him to stop!" she plead. I sighed and Nick smirked. He got up and walked to another room, his room to be exact.

"Zayn, go to your room." I said to him. He looked at me offended.

"I am not a child anymore! You can't tell me what to do!" I looked at him incredulously, raising my eyebrow.

"Oh? Really?" I said to him getting up, and walking up to him, menacingly. Zayn knew how scary I could be, even though I was the kid who got the 'Peace and Light' title; I'm happy that I have this title, but I also have sorta a dark side; kinda like Xoa isn't all bad. She can actually be really sweet; (She doesn't like to show it though!) Xoa was watching us, in amusement. I turned to her.

"You too." Xoa's mouth dropped open.

"But I did nothing wrong!" she said.

"Oh? Really? This is the road you want to take tonight?" Xoa glared at me, I glared back. "I can keep this up all night, and even into the day."

"Same here." She said. I smirked.

"Night is yours, Day is mine, and you know you can't beat me in the day. At least, not yet." She got that stubborn look on her face that I've been seeing for the last 14, soon to be 15, years. (Seriously, it's like she came out of our mother with that face!)

"Fine! I'll go to bed." She said stubbornly, "Only if he does!" I sighed and turned to Zayn.

"I'm not going to bed. It's only 10:43." He said crossing his arms, "And I'm not tired." He yawned, "Ok, maybe I am a little but that doesn't mean I'm going to bed." I started to walk up to him.

"Really? Do I have to watch you again? Throughout the, whole, night?" I asked. He uncrossed his arms. (You know, he acts like such a little child sometimes! Honestly!)

"Awhhhhh! Whoa! I'm suddenly so tired. I think I'm gonna hit the hay! G-night Zan," He stopped at Xoa on his way to his room, "Xoa." He said it with annoyance in his voice.

"Zayn." She said it the same way, gosh those two are so in love! Once Zayn was gone I looked at Xoa.

"Your turn."

"Good night Zan."

"Night, Xoa. I love you! Sleep well!" I called.

"Yeah, yeah, you too." She said closing her door.

"What am I going to do with those two?" I mumbled to myself. I sat back down on the ruined mattress. I stayed there a little while, and then got up. I went to the circuit breaker and turned off all the switches. I walked to my room and closed the door. Since I was the oldest, I didn't get a bed. I slept on the floor with a pillow and a scratchy blanket. I felt something hard against my leg, so I reached down and yanked it free of the terribly uncomfortable blanket. I pulled it up to my face so I could see it.

"Darn it. Another night of no blanket." I mumbled while balling up the blanket and tossing it away, along with the rotting tooth I pulled out of it.

"G-night." I whispered and fell asleep, shivering every now and then because of the cold wind, washing my skin of the previous day's happening's.
