Prologue

Kadence Rae Jones was just your ordinary girl living in Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh, Pennslyvania to be exact. She is fifteen going on sixteen on November twenty-ninth. Kadence was five foot seven. And she has brown hair so dark, it was almost black, but it was so pretty. She was very tall and very skinny. She was practically the tallest out of her dance group. All Kadence did was dance. That's all she wanted to do. That's all she knew since she was two years old. That's all her mother let her do. Is dance. No sports, band, or even one boyfriend. Her mother always wanted her only daughter to become a professional dancer on Broadway. So that meant, no boyfriends till you're married.

Just at ten years old. Kadence was already in advance dance taking lessons to become better. She competed in the group dances with all the other girls her age. She was with the Amber Johnson Dance Company or the AJDC. You could say Ms. Amber vowed Kadence as her favorite but all the other girls didn't need to know that. Ms. Amber was determined to make Kadence the best.

Three more years went by and Kadence had practically won first place every solo she performed. She did get fifth place once, but that was because the CD skipped and threw her off beat. She danced her little heart out like the little engine who could.

Three more years and it was March and this week they would be going to the Thunder competition in Oklahoma City. Kadence was in with the big dogs now. The age group fourteen through sixteen. There would be some heavy dancers to beat but Kadence was back in the dressing room. Knowing who she was up against. She kept telling herself, "Don't let those other girls sike you out Kadence. You can do this. I know you can." She was practicing her dance then the director women came in and got her. As they were walking through the hall, Kadence was going through the moves in her head, over and over and over. She brought her backstage to let her prepare for her routine. The annoucer called her name, "From the Amber Johnson Dance Company, Kadence Jones performing 'Electricity'." The audience was clapping, while the judges were ready. When Kadence stepped out on that stage. She had no idea what was going to happen those first thirty seconds. When she had her accident.
