'Twas dirty, and the dumpster boxes,
Did burst and bubble in the waste,
All stinky were the purple rocks,
And the junk rats simply scathed.
"Beware the Antiriclaggio1, my girl!
The maws that bite, the mouths that catch!
Beware the Garbage Birds, and shun
The frothing Garbagecatch!"
She took her green, green wand in hand:
Waited for the rival she pursued -
And reposed she by the Gumnut tree,
And stood awhile in to think in verse.
And, as she stood up like a lunk,
The Antiriclag, with eyes of cans,
Came whiffling through the whiffy junk,
And it came upon her plan!
One, two! One, two! And through and through,
The green, green blade went snap, snap, snap!
She left it dead, and with its head
She went triumphantly back.
"And, has thou slain the Antiriclag?
Recyclers may now all enjoy,
This fabulous day! Hurrah! Hooray!'
He chortled in his joy.
'Twas dirty, and the dumpster boxes,
Did burst and bubble in the waste,
All stinky were the purple rocks,
And the junk rats simply scathed.
1 Antriclaggio means Anti-Recycling in Italian
