I sit where a drunkard sits

I drink up the sadness he leaves

I drink it up for him

I sit where a drunkard sits

I drink up the sadness he leaves

I don't think he realizes it

I lay where a homeless man lays

I look at the dirt he has on his face

I see the dirt to wash it away

I lay where a homeless man lays

I look at the dirt he has on his face

And count the tears he must wipe away

I stand where a prostitute stands

I want to let her know that she is important

More important than money or man

I stand where a prostitute stands

I want to let her know that she is important

And put a better life in her hands

I sit where a drunkard sits

I drink up the sadness he leaves

I drink it up for him

I sit where a drunkard sits

I drink up the sadness he leaves

I don't think he realizes it
