This is how I got to spend my 15th birthday. I had a party with friends and family but Cody said he wanted something special.

Today, Cody had flown out from his home in Australia to Manhattan to spend time with me for my 15th birthday. It started out as a pretty good day. Only a few pictures were taken. It got worse as the day went on. I met Cody at Penn Station around 8 PM. As soon as I saw him, I didn't need anything else in the world. He took my hand and we walked out into the city. As soon as we left Penn, there were about 20 flashes going off in the distance. Cody held my hand tighter and we got into a black taxi that he had waiting for us. The windows weren't tinted though which posed a problem. We could see everyone and they could see us. It was pretty sad that we had to wear sunglasses at night. This was the first time the press had seen us together. We had been dating but this was the most public it had been ever since we met. It was going to be like Justin Bieber's 17th birthday and Selena Gomez all over. I saw flashes outside my window as the taxi pulled to a stop in traffic.

Fuck. This is great. Cody and I can't do anything together

When we reached Craft, a very big restaurant here in NYC, Cody paid the driver and he slid out of the right side door. He helped me out and took my hand. As we walked into Craft, the waiters stared at us for a second before approaching us and seating us.

1 Hour Later

After Cody graciously paid for dinner, I kissed him on the cheek and I heard someone's iPhone camera go off and a female voice saying 'I'm gonna tweet it!' followed by a male voice replying 'Don't. Leave them alone. Obviously they just want to be treated like normal people'. Of course the picture was tweeted. We walked out of the restaurant and we were quickly SWARMED by flashing lights and yelling voices.

I couldn't even hear myself think. I reached for Cody's hand and he took it quickly, making sure he wouldn't lose me.

"ROXANNE HOW LONG HAVE YOU TWO BEEN TOGETHER?" "YOU 2 ARE SO CUTE"

Cody called for his bodyguard to help us through. He held my hand as we squeezed through the crowd. I felt someone hit my mouth really hard. One of their stupid cameras hit me in my lip. This was just like Justin Bieber's birthday. I wanted to call Selena and tell her…if I lived. As we reached the car, Ice told Cody to try to get into the other side of the SUV. Cody refused. He said he wouldn't get in until I was safely inside. When I got inside, I locked my seatbelt and looked down and hid my face. Thank God this car had tinted windows. I wanted to cry.

I heard a car door slam next to be and a seat beat click. It was Cody. "Babe are you okay?" He asked. I nodded trying to not burst into tears. "Baby look at me" He took my chin gently in his hand and looked into my eyes. "Rox, your lip-" "I know" I sighed. I felt his arms wrap around me as Ice drove us out of the parking lot. I rested my head on Cody's chest while the car drove us away from the blinding flashes. "I have an idea" Cody said suddenly. I looked up at him. He sat up and whispered something to Ice in the front seat. He nodded.

I guess I fell asleep for a while because I felt Cody shaking me gently and telling me to wake up. I opened my eyes and saw that we were at a place that was very familiar to me. We were at Jones Beach in my hometown on Long Island. It looked strangely beautiful at night. Cody led me out of the car and we took off our shoes and ran down to the water. We walked along the sand, letting the water rush over our feet and then back to the dark blue ocean. Cody's fingers intertwined with mine as he held my hand and stopped walking. "Babe….I'm so sorry about back there." "Its okay, Cody. You didn't know it was going to be THAT crazy. I mean we can't avoid them. They're everywhere. I'm surprised they aren't here. It just pisses me off that they need to be in our business everywhere we go. I mean can't we just have some privacy! Sometimes I could like to kiss you in public without a camera going off! It's just not-" I was cut off by Cody's lips on mine. "Like that?" he asked after we broke apart. I nodded and smiled. "Oh wait…." He pulled a box out of his pocket. "Happy birthday!" He said handing it to me. "Oh Codyyyyyy I told you not to!" I whined. "Just shut up and open it" He laughed. I opened the small red box and pulled out a silver chain with a ring on it. "It's a promise ring," He said "So will you promise me you'll stay with me?" I nodded. He smiled and kissed me passionately. I looked up at him "All this drama….and you still love me".
