They called him to the Field, when he attended All Boys High.
New dreams were born, amidst the grass, but he was flying shy,
Forgotten by the cause of dreams, and left to walk and pray.
Rebuilding visions couldn't work, if he stayed there to play.
His roundabout excursion brought him things that none foresaw.
He fled a different way; and then he wound up at the Moor.
He served somebody's purpose, as a link to his best bud.
The wound he got (from that one) didn't show in bruise or blood.
The Unit (his next venue) showed that tastes had still not changed.
He clowned around, which eased his heart; though some thought him deranged.
The moment he found cause to care again, a blast broke loose.
To stay, and use his worth, would place his neck inside their noose.
The College did not meet his dreams; but there he could admire
His hero. Then the villains made his Shining Guide retire.
The only one (who might have made that loss worth going through)
Soon made it clear, that she preferred her other things to do.
So, traveling South, for once, he found refreshment at the Nest,
Yet still belonged to none, when he was everybody's guest.
Attempting laughs once more was futile. His next moves went wrong.
The person there (to plead his falling cause) was weak too Long.
The Terrace left him dry as well; and so far from his heart's
Idea of home. He put his maps on walls, and threw some darts.
He had to move (this time) as though he'd seem to be extinct.
He walked into the sunset, left the game behind, and blinked.
The realm (outside the game) was filled with menace made to dwarf
Those old ones. When it was too much, he stumbled to the wharf,
And dived right in the Water, which did something to restore
His dreams (and means to chase them). Then it suddenly went raw.
Sabbatical was brief this time. He found the Valley ripe
With fruits of dreams (no longer warped away from his true type).
He found a second hero, on a plane where he could fit;
And tries the New Unknown, to see what wonders wait in it.
The Valley has its dangers too, as dream worlds often must.
Their nightmares have no claim on those who shake off all the dust.
There's paradise's preview in the forest which surrounds
The Valley Message Mansion. Coloured leaves now fill its grounds.
