PROLOGUE

It was a warm sunday evening when the woman of wax stumbled through the doors of a local hospital.

People around her began to flee in terror. Their faces were horrorstruck, their lips parted with shock and their eyebrows woven together with worry. Women were cradling their babies, running to the farthest corner of the hospital. Patients willing themselves to get up and rush away from her, despite their dire conditions. A man in a wheelchair, pushed himself back and away from the new arrival, knocking into a medical station and tumbling onto the floor.

The woman was unnaturally tall and she walked with jerky movements. They were fluid and human-like, yet at the same time they seemed fake and robotic. Her face was white and waxy, her eyes unblinking and large with no eyebrows present above them. Make up had been splashed on her face like paint, as if in an attempt to make her features look real.

Her face and body were like that of a mannequin.

Her white dress was covered in blood, blood from the rabbit that her jaws were clamped around. It was trickling down her chin and staining the front of her dress. Some of the braver doctors rushed forward, pulling a stretcher with them.

She spat out the rabbit and collapsed onto the stretcher. The doctors cleared her up, their hands trembling. The authorities instructed them to bind her up and thought she required physical restraint. But as a nurse tied her up, she grabbed her hand and looked at her with expressionless eyes.

"Callisto Ambrosia," she whispered, her lips barely moving.

The nurse trembled with fear, her legs numb and her feet rooted to the spot. "Is that your name?"

She shook her head. They were short, jerky movements, her face still expressionless and her eyes shallow and black. The nurse couldn't help but think that a demon was holding her hand. She whimpered as her grip grew tighter, noticing that her fingers even felt like those of a mannequin.

"Let go of her!" the doctor said as he walked in to see the woman of wax clutching at the poor nurse' arm, who was not whimpering not only with fear but also with pain.

She turned her head to look at the middle aged man and smiled. The doctor gasped as he saw her sharp teeth, saw the strange way her face stretched to accommodate the smile. She then lunged forward, breaking free of whatever was chaining her to the bed and sunk her sharp teeth into his neck.

The blood once again stained the white dress.

After killing the doctor, the woman of wax turned to look at the nurse. She was backed up against the wall, her eyes full of terror and tears, her hand on her chest. She began to whisper 'no, no, no' as the strange, living mannequin walked towards her, her teeth barred and stained with the red blood of the doctor.

"Please," the nurse whispered, pressing her back against the wall so much she felt as if she would fall through it.

The woman looked at her expressionlessly once more before saying, "Find me Callisto Ambrosia."

Please do continue reading! It gets more interesting, I promise! I would love some critique too :)
