This was based off a prompt I found while browsing for some, called, 'online.' Excuse my poor...text-mimicking attempts for this story's dialogue. I also probably could have been more descriptive with appearances and all. Reviews and feedback are also always welcome for this!
The shirtless man; with uncombed blond locks that indistinctly resembled a lion's mane, was the one to swear in disdain.
Back and forth he paced within the incredibly small-spaced living room, his Android Tablet in his large, pale hands as he tried his hardest on 'catching' a wi-fi signal. As this occurred, his tiny daughter paid no mind; too busy playing with her dolls whilst the television in front of them prepared to show a program of some sorts.
Like with trends of hairstyles and clothes, popular internet websites also came and went. Presently, there had been a new popular site around; so popular it managed to replace Twitter—even Tumblr within the hearts of many.
And this blond man, Blaise, whom was regularly referred to as 'Finn', had been apart of this site. Although, since Finn and his former-best-friend-now-turned-wife-Tamara didn't have enough money for an actual computer yet, he was doomed to use it with his trusty Tablet. Also, due to this fact, they had no service provider for internet access.
Thus, they needed to find unsecured networks when they wanted to get online like 'everyone else' in the world, which, could be incredibly troublesome.
Akin to other popular networking sites; you could make 'friends' on there; fallow them, message them, all things such as that. But, Finn wasn't into socializing online, although ironically he had many followers. The twenty-five year old simply guessed it was either due to the fact everything he tended to re-blog was humorous, pertained to fellow 90s/80s babies, and he rapid live-blogged; the latter was becoming more and more frequent.
More than likely his eccentric live-blogging is what caused the followers, but silly enough; he only began live-blogging because neighbors complained about him yelling at the television-set too much.
So, today, there was going to be a premiere of a remake of an old 80s cartoon Finn once watched a little boy; the anxiousness he felt was overwhelming, so, he was going to live-blog it; either within joyous 'spazzy' excitement—or downright hatred...or, perhaps, this wouldn't even occur at all since he couldn't even get access to the internet.
Tamara; pregnant and whiny kept trying to install the fact this was futile, but, Finn merely shooed her off; at this present moment he guessed his dark-skinned wife was taking an angry nap or…'something.'
Finally within the very corner of the living room—behind the couch of all places; he got an unsecured network. A weak one given the fact there had only been a few lit green bars beside it, but still; wifi was wifi. Cheekily, a grin came onto his face as logged on.
With a few thumb typing and clicking, he was led to navy blue screen of the website, but suddenly took notice to how there had been a red dot above the mail symbol.
Attentively, he looked on; this was incredibly uncommon—unless it was his much younger, 'tweenaged-friend' Patrycja trying to re-introduce him to those…'Chinese' cartoons she liked so much.
They confused the hell out of him (and he didn't like how everyone looked like they were chicks), but regardless, he clicked to see what this would say.
It was an anonymous gray-face, not Patrycja's hot pink/purple icon he had came to have known. And, he literally became stiff as a rock once seeing;
'heeeeyyy good lookin! c;'
His sea-green colored eyes darted wall to wall, making sure Tamara wasn't coming out of their bedroom.
Taken back as he was, it wouldn't hurt to respond, right?
He would just leave his messages now, begin his duty, especially since now the theme song—horribly remixed, had came on.
But, unfortunately, he received another message.
'soooo...I saw u had a pic of urself up n..ur hot!'
A snort released from his nostrils. 'hah I don't even HAVE a pic of myself up! =p'
'o...well da way u type make u hot! super hot! c='
'hmmhmm! got a gf? c='
'aw, u aint interstd?'
'interested? you mean that right?'
'hmmhmmm i was hopin u r cuse u act hot n funny! =c buuut wats ur wifey like? she qt?'
A smile went across the corner of his lips; coolly, he leaned over the wooden back railing of the raggedy couch.
'pff, cute? shes hot like lava'
'yea; got this whiny voice and can't cook with shit, but, pretty hot.'
Her dark eyebrows rose in shock at this comment he made about her.
As she sat on the bed, bare legs propped up, and a pout on her lips; Tamara felt highly conflicted at these words, however, a new message came soon enough;
'Yea! it makes her cute, IDK how the fuck thou.'
Instantly, her spirits rose; a smile working its way now, and so; she began to text away with manicured nails.
'so u turnd on at grls lik dat?'
Finn was now completely ignoring the television, too into the conversation, 'You can say that.'
'lookwise wat u turnd on by?'
'long hair and…stuff.'
'wats da stuf? big a$$? c;'
'eh. Wouldnt hurt, but wifey's a flatty.'
'oooo i aint! soooooo…u shure aint intreted in me at ALL?'
Finn rolled his eyes.
'I don't even know you!'
'so? i got long hair dho! n a big a$$!'
'even if you have a nice ass and hair, you could be like some obese dude with no shins. :['
Tamara covered her mouth, trying to console countless giggles.
'Get yourself together Tammy!' she tried to make a serious expression, biting the edge of her lip and pretended to appear angered. "Well that's okay…" Tamara softly spoke the words she texted, "'cause I don't need yo' freckled, bony, punk—'
—ass self, BLAISE. =c'
"What the hell?"
He ceased his former chilled leaning; in a mixture of confusion and anger. No one called him by his actual name—other than Patrycja's mother and his own mother. But, the former didn't seem like the type of women to flirt online, and his mother…
A shiver ran down his scrawny spine at just imagining his auburn-haired mother doing such a thing to him.
Maybe it was Patrycja, herself?
"No..." he basically breathed out; she wouldn't swear online, and, didn't type like this…although the tween's typing was still quite horrendous. Suddenly, his ears perked at the sound of giggles coming from the nearby bedroom. He smirked, putting down the sleek and triangular device and then, boyishly leaping over the sofa.
"Tammmmmy~!" the blonde playfully growled, opening the door to find said woman having the time of her life; knees cradled to her small-yet-growing stomach, dark eyes clamped shut, and her cell-phone by her feet.
Finn wrinkled his nose, trying to hide his humored-feelings by putting on a pretend scowl. "You're flirtin' with me online?" Tamara looked up to him; smiling mischievously with 'squinted' eyes,
"But, but!" she tried to find some sort of defense for her actions, "You replied baaac—" she was cut off due to his hands going to her swollen stomach; tickling it.
"You online home wrecker!"
Minutes passed on as the scene between the two young adults became a full-fledged tickle-war, ultimately it ended in him grinning as he lay beside her, and, she trying to catch her breath.
Eventually, Tamara gained enough energy to smile as she rolled over on her side, sweetly giving him a peck upon his distinctively large nose. "I love you!"
Finn returned the smile; kissing her upon her caramel colored cheek;
"I love you too."
