Calla's mother arrived shortly after their phone call. Calla's mother was so in shock her daughter was still alive, it was a great family reunion. They chatted about what happened while Calla was gone, but I was out in my own world. Just the shock of actually being alive after all of this, well, it's a good feeling, but, I don't know how to describe it.
My mother and father arrived at the police station about 20 minutes after Calla's mother did. They instantly pulled me into a hug.
"Oh Sarah, I can't believe you're safe! I'm so happy!" Mom said.
"You don't know how worried we were!" says Dad. I smile.
"I love you both." I say, relieved this is how it ended. Of course, I wouldn't be here without Calla's bravery.
I pull away from my parents and walk up to Calla. Her blue eyes look at me.
"Calla, words can't describe how grateful I am. I wouldn't be here without you and your bravery. Thank you." Calla stands up and looks me in the eyes, smiling.
"Hey, I couldn't have done it without you." She pulls me into a long hug.
"Calla, we need to go. Your brother and father really want to see you." Her mother says. Calla pulls away from the hug and quickly scribbles something down on a piece of paper she received from her mother's purse.
"Make sure you text me, ok?" She says. I nod and Calla walks out of the police station doors.
…Two months later….
Being home, is a wonderful feeling. Being safe, is a million times better. They found and identified the kidnapper. His name is Mike Colswith. They said he didn't put up much of a fight, the assumed he knew he was done any day. They also rescued about 50 other children and returned them home, safely.
This whole experience was full of emotion. Fear, anguish, anger, hope, and happiness. It's all over now, thank god, but the memories will never fade. I know this, and I've accepted this, but it's still hard to get over. But with the help of my family and friends, I've slowly recovered. I'll never be the same, but I'll heal day by day.
At least, that's what I hope.
So here's the last chapter of the Kidnapping! Tell me whatcha think!
