A/N: So, a little prequel to my story "Infatuation, Not Love". Um, I'm going to start a multi-chapter soon, and I'd like to know if you think my writing is okay enough to keep writing on this sight...I'll put the multi-chapter's summary on my profile.
"Teenage Love at the Math Table"
It started when she- Rose- moved to "PineHell" and was put in Mrs. Owens' seventh period math class, and was told to sit next to Claire Agostino, known for being a straight A student, and never getting into trouble. Across from Claire sat Nicholas David, who was completely calm and (almost) normal before the Evil Duo made him twitchy and sometimes even stutter-y.
Then, after a month of sitting at that table, Rose and the other two were moved to the back table of the classroom, twelve feet from the door, and Rose could lean back against the wall, and stretch her feet out on the little bar attached to the bottom of Claire's chair. Across from Rose now sat Charlie, who originally was moved to the table because of his "bad seed behavior". It didn't matter where he sat, Charlie would start trouble whenever he wanted to.
Rose and Charlie made the aforementioned Evil Duo. They were only called that because Nicky ONLY started to be twitchy and stutter-y when the table was moved to Charlie's table. Charlie and Rose liked to make fun of him, in a fun way. They were playfully teasing him…well; Charlie was more making observations that could hurt Nicky's feelings, you know, if he were a girl. Rose just laughed and teased him, and called him Twitchy. Twitchy McStutter, to be exact.
"Dude, do you only own like two, maybe three shirts? I swear I've seen that things thirty times in the last two months!" Rose told Nicky one day, referring to the American Eagle shirt that she wore so often. Charlie laughed.
"I know, right? I swear, it's like you wear that thing every other day!" Charlie exclaimed. Claire scoffed.
"That's what she was insinuating with her comment, genius! Thirty days in two months? That's every other day," Claire pointed out. Rose squeezed her lips together, trying not to laugh.
"Shut up, Ego-stino! We're focusing on Nick's lack of clothing here!" Charlie retorted. Nick rolled his eyes.
"I have plenty of shirts! I just-"
"You just think this one is oh-so-cute that you just have to show it off half the time?" Rose interrupted. Charlie and Claire laughed.
"You're mean. No, seriously, you bully me! I should report you," Nicky half joked. Rose rolled her eyes.
"Aw, you wouldn't do that to me would you?" Rose pouted, still looking thoroughly amused.
"Oh, definitely. I'll just put most of the blame on Charlie though." Claire laughed, in a "in your face!" manner. The dirty boy and the squeaky clean girl didn't get along that well.
"Hey! No, man, I talk to you during lunch! Rose doesn't, I'm like, your best bud!" Charlie objected. Nicky laughed.
"No way! Rose is like, the only person who can fluently speak Spanish and French, so she has to sit with the foreign kids so she can help them with their stuff…and stuff. You make fun of me during lunch." Rose beamed, and scrunched her nose in Charlie's face. Charlie sometimes got the worst end of the deal, but really, he kind of brought it on himself. Nicky did too, but he was nicer. Nice guys aren't treated right.
"Oh yeah! Don't remind me. You know Rose, someone who fluently speaks three languages and gets one-hundred's in all of her subjects, is called an overachiever. Kind of like Claire over there. She's just way more open about it," Charlie pointed at Claire, and Rose nodded, because he definitely wanted to get back at her for some reason or other. Claire scoffed at him again.
"You are so mature. Really, someone who gets fantastic grades and can speak more than one language? That's fantastic. You are just stupid." Nicky and Rose stood up, but the other two kept on arguing.
"Right, if I'm so stupid, why are you arguing with me? You know what they about arguing- whoa. Hey. Where are you two going?" Claire and Charlie looked up from their bickering to see their other friends packing up their stuff.
"The bell rang guys. We're leaving…to go home?" Nicky told the two who, looked at your desks.
"You guys were so involved with your argument, you forget even now that I always take up the group's calculators at the end of the day…you know, like how I get them for you guys at the beginning of class?" Rose looked at the two who were still sitting. Claire blushed and Charlie rolled his eyes.
"Whatever. Hey Rose, if I come by your place tonight, will you do my math homework?" Mrs. Owens happened to walk by as he said that, and gave him a look, to which he looked down from. (He was trying not to laugh.)
"I'll do your math homework when Claire willingly has sex with you," Rose laughed. Claire laughed with her, but the smile disappeared when Charlie gave her his "seductive look".
"That would be never, moron. Besides, I'd have to die before you put your hands on me! Rose, I will definitely be at your place tonight. Remember, we're studying for the history test that we have on Friday?" Claire reminded her best friend. Rose smiled.
"Wouldn't forget it. Au revoir!" Rose gave Claire the "dainty finger wave" that was incredibly girly. Rose wasn't a fan of being girly, or being Claire, but she was willing to do it for Claire.
"So, Twitch, are you coming too?" Rose and Nicky normally walked out of class together, since soccer practices and track practices were side by side. Track practice ran fairly short, so Rose just stayed in the bleachers.
"Coming? I'll be there the entire time. You were my ride to school today. Besides, your place has food," Nicky shrugged. She laughed.
"Well, that's true. I think Claire will be over at around seven-ish?" Rose said this loud enough for Charlie to hear.
"I think he'll be just fashionably late to the party. You know, wouldn't want to seem like he wants to see Claire or anything," Nicky snickered in Rose's ear.
"Oh, I'm sure. He'll probably mess up his hair so it looks like he and a girl just had a quickie in the car. Oh, speaking of cars, is your girlfriend gonna be with us today?" Rose asked Nicky, who rolled his eyes.
"No, she thinks she told me that we've 'broken up' for the rest of this week, but I swear she said nothing of the sort. So, we're arguing everyday about it," Nicky said, putting air quotes around "broken up".
"Well, if you're arguing that probably means she didn't say anything. Although, I think it's kind of weird that you guys are fighting about whether she broke up with you or not." By this time they had reached the gym, where they had to part to go change into their uniforms.
"Well, to an outsider I guess it would look weird…but it's just the way we do things, I guess," he sighed, running a hand through his hair. They smiled at each other before going their separate ways.
"Okay, I heard that. Rose, the boy is a moron. I mean, come on, who would willingly date Piper? Piper Daniels? I mean, he obviously won't date a nice girl like you, because he's into bitches like freaking Piper Daniels!" Rose's absolute best friend Rae ranted to Rose as they were changing.
Nicky was cute. He was about six inches taller than Rose, with dirty blonde hair, green eyes, a soccer player's build, and a silly smile. Also, a silly laugh, and an outrageously funny fear of spiders.
"I don't think he's that into her. I mean, if you heard us, you must have picked up on the tone he used. Besides, she doesn't even come to cheer him on at hardly any of his games! Plus, he's a soccer player, so it's either that or the most eligible baseball player." Rae's eyes widened.
"But there aren't any eligible baseball players at this school."
"Exactly. So, let's at least think I could have a chance with him, okay?" Rose walked out as she tied her ponytail.
Besides, she'd only have to put up with waiting for him to realize she was there for about two more months. Poor Piper!
A/N: So, the ending sucked ass, but maybe you could suggest what would make it better? LOL, Poor Piper! No, not really, she's a bitch. Yet, I have some sympathy for her. She seems to always be PMSing, having her period, or ovulating, and I just think that must be so tiring to deal with. So, review? Pretty please?
P.S. Could you vote on the poll on my profile? Pretty please?...again?
