Monday Through Friday
Author:
Fay Laverne PM
It's something we've all experienced: We go through the week anticipating the sleep we're going to catch up on over the weekend. Unfortunately, the twenty-first century has an ample supply of distractions. Thank god I don't actually have a facebook or I'd be up even later than three a.m. Please review!

It's the first day of the week

And it really really sucks

I'm really really tired

Wanna get out of this rut.

Just Monday right through Friday

It's really nothing new

If I can get through sixth period

There's nothing I can't do

Gaze out sunny windows

Long to be dismissed

Take notes like a madman

Then space off for a bit

And finally it's here

It's the end of the week

Gonna go home and

Get lots of sleep

But there's my laptop on the table

Just begging to be used

Hey I don't even have to choose

I can open eighty windows

and multi-task like wild

surf the web with skills

like a true twenty-first-century child

And it's 12 a.m. before I know it,

The one, then two, then three

My eyes are bugging out

And I really gotta pee

But how could I leave my precious

Technology?

And boom it's Sunday night

And I've got fifty problems of math

But all I can think of is my Inbox

And I don't know how to graph.

So right along comes Monday

And I'm right where I began

Time to sprint from class to class

Get through it if I can

It's only Monday right through Friday

Just like the week before

Bang my head on every desk

And beg for something more

I promise to myself

That this weekend I'll be good

Do my homework Friday night

Like I know I always should

But thank god again it's Friday

I was just about to die

And when I get home the TV's on

And I know that I have lied.
