You swore you'd always be there,
Best friends until the end.
But you left me behind,
Holding onto old promises.
Now you want to be friends again,
But now I don't.
I've moved on,
I'm stronger now.
You thought you could drop me,
And acted like nothing happened.
Said you wanted no contact with me,
Then talked to me, like we were best friends.
You were my friend,
Who I thought would always be there.
We both knew,
The pain and the hurt.
From broken friendships alone,
To best friends together.
I thought you would stand for me,
When no one else would.
But everyone else stood for me,
When you wouldn't.
I wasn't afraid to be myself around you,
One of the few I could trust.
You broke off the friendship,
And said I wasn't a true friend.
But who was the one comforting you,
When you were down in the dumps.
When everyone deserted you,
When the rumors got around.
Everyone hates you,
For everything you've done.
Your so-called true friends,
Don't even like you.
I never wanted it to end,
But you did.
I had hoped we ended on good terms,
But apparently not.
You're nothing to me now,
No place in my heart.
No love, no hate,
Like you were never in my life.
I don't even care anymore,
You showed your true colors.
So go ahead,
Call me names.
But I'm above all of this, now you're just a shadow of my past.
