"Good Morning, America! This is a lovely August day. The temperature should be above freezing, as usual!" The news anchor man said laughing at his own joke. He pointed to the Midwest and declared what their day was going to be like, but as usual I blocked that out. It wasn't my "thing". To be honest I don't know what my "thing" is.

"Good morning, your wonderfulness. How are you this horrible morning?" asked my older brother, Sid, entering the kitchen I was occupying. His grey eyes were glassy and his mind seemed to be in another place. He was wearing a baby blue, button up, long-sleeved shirt and black trousers. Excellent choice, I taught him well.

"What's wrong with you? You are never this horrible, or good-looking. OH GAWD! You got a girlfriend, didn't you? Is she ugly? Is she stupid?" I was rambling on and on, to where I barely heard the groan that slipped from his lips.

"No, I just got this thing at the office, little sister, which means you have to ride the bus."He patted the crown of my head and headed towards the living room. He was fixing his cuff links, and about to straighten his ugly grey tie that his ex got him when they first started dating. She was like 'Oh my god baby, this will look sooooooooooooo good on you, and it matches your eyes.' I'm surprised she even knew her colors.

"You have got to be kidding me! This is the first day of school. I need to ride in style." I was waving my arms, emphasizing how important this was.

"Whatever, this is important to me, Kennedy. Think about what I want for once today, at least. Plus, you look fine, so there's your style kiddo."Sid checked his watch "Be good. I better not get a call today." He ruffled my sandy blonde hair and exited the apartment. I looked down at my outfit that he said was in style. Yea, some SpongeBob Squarepants pajama pants and gray sweat shirt is totally fashionable.

I returned to the kitchen to shut off the television and the lights before I left. The sky was not quite bright yet and the grass had its usual dew. I trudged to the bus stop and stood with the peasants of the apartment complex.

The bus was there two minutes after I got there. The shrieking freshmen, sophomores and juniors were all in the first few seats then the quiet seniors occupied the last seats. I tried to hurriedly get my iPod, before, oh shit! Too late.

"Hey, Kennedy, are you excited about the first day of school? Seniors can you believe it? I mean it's so intriguing." Molly Hanson said as I sat down in the unoccupied seat across from hers. She was an attractive girl with baby blue eyes with wire framed glasses. Her wavy red hair coming down to her jaw line, it suits her.

"Yeah, it's so flippin' exciting." Sarcasm dripping from every word that slipped from my tongue. I put in my earphones to block out the ruckus from the other occupants and dozed off to a different dimension, opening my eyes ever so often to look out the window.

I opened my eyes as the bus halted to a stop and the doors opened to reveal the epitome of horror. Kellington High School! DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!

"C'mon let's see if we have lockers next to each other!" Molly grabbed my arm and dragged me to E hall. My locker was supposed to be in H hall.

Oh this is going to be one f-Ed up year.

"Welcome back, students! I'm Mr. Clark. I'm new here so when can learn together. This is exciting, isn't it?" Mr. Clark clapped his hands together in emphasis on the excitement. The excitement he thought should be there. I'm seriously sizing this guy up. I mean really, who does this? Shoo, this guy. I was mindlessly doodling on my lovely notebook, when a shadow crept over it. I looked up to a pair of brown eyes.

"Yes, Mr. Clark?" I asked, looking back down onto my notebook, my sandy blonde bangs falling in my eyes as I tried to blow them away.

"Kennedy Urgetz, correct?" he said, saying my name like it was a bad thing. His arms were folded across his broad chest. Yes, I know. Don't faun over a teacher. Hell, I wasn't even doing that, I was just pointing out the obvious things, but I digress.

"Yeaaaa….?" I nodded my head slowly. I was in trouble on the first day of school. Sweeet. Oh well, I didn't feel like staying the whole day anyways. I looked back down at my book, waiting for what else he had to say.

"Mhm." After that he walked away. What was that? Where was the punishment that I was ultimately waiting and yearning for? WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO?
