Destruction

The swirling clouds
of mass destruction
Descended upon the earth
Unleashed its full fury
And when away,
and dare I say?
Was the ravaged land
I called home.

We picked through
the destruction
Looking for survivors
We found none,
and tears sprang
And I cried for all those lost

The wind and rain
scoured the earth
Until it was ravaged
beyond belief.
But we stuck by side
And made it through
the heart-wrenching grief
