In the wake of midnight Susanne stirred in her sleep. She couldn't help but feel out of place in this less then moderate abode. She knew her mothers side of the family had money, but she didn't know how smug they were about it. Her room looked like what little girls imagined princesses to stay in. High ceiling, canopy bed, a gorgeous armoire, and all in a soft pink-white color. The sheets on her bed were silk of course and constantly slid off of her sleeping form as she thrashed about. She reluctantly huffed and opened her eyes. She doubted the good nights sleep her aunt had promised the room would bring about.

Nights like this she was used to hearing the coyotes howl and the dogs on the farm barking to chase them away, the crickets were all she could hear at her new 'home'. All she wanted was to be back home in Kentucky. She was a girl of the country. Mild accent, on a good day, cravings for ice cold sweet tea, and the funny little country sayings gave her away. For being a southern state Louisiana hadn't felt like Kentucky at all. The farms were all plantation style and living in New Orleans she mostly saw the city. She longed for her late night horse races and fall time deer hunts.

She looked over at the clock as it read 5:13am. This time in a month and 6 days she would be getting up to go to school. It was hard enough for her leaving the farm to move into a lavish 9 bedroom mansion where everything felt untouchable and foreign but to top it off she would go through her senior year at a new school knowing no one. Of course they didn't have her language so she would have to get a private tutor and they didn't have archery club or cameo day. It wouldn't be anything like her old school. She finally gave up on sleep and rose from bed stretching her arms out and popping her back.
