A dark song I wrote a few years back that turned into a metal-polka mix.

Leaves of Laughter
Silent misfortunes befall those who dwell
In depressed corridors of darkened minds
Seeds of doubt grow into trees of deceipt
These branches sprout leaves of laughter
So now you are on a ship
Set sail to the dark abyss
In your eyes, a fire alights
Burned like a crucifix
The fiery waters make for a rough ride
Infernos burst forth at high tide
There is no oil in sight
And yet it burns, it burns
Silent misfortunes befall those who dwell
In depressed corridors of darkened minds
Seeds of doubt grow into trees of deceipt
These branches sprout leaves of laughter
A beach of broken bones lies ahead
Skulls and femurs of the dead
From the fire to the cold
Can we break death's mighty hold?
Seems like things are slipping
Even two feet on dry land can fail
Stuck in a place that's neither hot nor cold
On a journey that's bound to fail
Silent misfortunes befall those who dwell
In depressed corridors of darkened minds
Seeds of doubt grow into trees of deceipt
These branches sprout leaves of laughter
Feels like forever in a moment
We can't go forward into the past
One foot in front of the other
Moving forward again at last
And he who stands afore us
Is our greatest foe
There is no one here to save us
We are alone
Silent misfortunes befall those who dwell
In depressed corridors of darkened minds
Seeds of doubt grow into trees of deceipt
These branches sprout leaves of laughter
And in the deepest corners of my mind
I am flawed by some grand design
It seems that my one true enemy
Is the one and only, me
So I stab this dagger into my heart
I have done what I can
I have won and lost the fight
I no longer stand
Silent misfortunes befall those who dwell
In depressed corridors of darkened minds
Seeds of doubt grow into trees of deceipt
These branches sprout leaves of laughter
Silent misfortunes befall those who dwell
In depressed corridors of darkened minds
Seeds of doubt grow into trees of deceipt
These branches sprout leaves of laughter
