The Cage
A yellow bird sits in a cage
And waits for his owner to come and free him.
Little does he know, that the cage is his owner,
And that he will never be free
Until he learns to open the door for himself
And fly away.
A/N: My writing teacher was talking about "writing cages." It's where authors get trapped inside something and can't continue writing. Like, if you're really bad at spelling, you're in a spelling cage. I wrote this while she was lecturing (shh, don't tell) and I think it's symbolic in a few different ways. Take it as you like; writing's all about perception. Please R&R!
