Don't tell people they're perfect the way they are, because then they'll never get any better. A little poem I wrote because I don't think inspirational sayings make any sense. Reviews please.

I hear it often: Be yourself!
You're different! You're a star!
Famous songs say, "Never change!
You're perfect as you are!"
And I suppose it's quite all right
To have high self-esteem
But honestly, these sayings
Sometimes make me want to scream.
Why not change yourself a bit?
It couldn't hurt to try,
Change your style, get in shape!
Don't let your life pass by.
Become a nicer person,
Maybe try to get an 'A'!
Learn to take a joke or two
You'll have more fun that way.
Don't accept your weaknesses
If all of them can change.
'Individual' is not
A synonym for 'Strange.''
We're all a work in progress
So those sayings are a sham.
When told to be myself I say
That I already am.
