Auntie Rose

My Auntie Rose doesn't like me,

She says I just won't do.

My hair's not quite the right color

And my eyes are just too blue.

I look too much like my Mother

And too little like my Dad.

My nose is imitating my cousin's

And why can't I take after Gran?

I've grown quite too much this year,

I should save up more for the next.

I'll eat my Daddy out of house and home

And I keep my room such a mess.

I shouldn't breath so heavily

Nor tread on the floor so hard.

I'm much too tall for my age

And skinny as a half-starved crow.

My Auntie Rose doesn't like me,

She says I just won't do.

If I didn't live with my Auntie Ruth

I wouldn't know what to do.
