This is a poem I wrote, it was inspired by the song Fighter by Manafest. Please tell me what you think. I want to get it published do you think its good enough? Honest opinions please.

What do you see?

When you look at me, what do you see?

do you see the real me?

The hurting me?

The suffering me?

The fighter?

Do you see the fake me?

The one I pretend to be?

With the makeup and such?

Am I pretty?

Do you like me?

It doesn't matter.

That's not me.

Someday I'll be free,

I'll be myself,

Free to hurt,

Free to cry,

Free to bleed.

Someday I'll be myself,

Free to live,

To love,

To laugh.

Today I'm done with fake me.

Today I show who I am,

Today I hurt,

I cry,

I bleed.

Today I take step out of the shadows,

A step towards the light.

It might be a hard fight,

But I'm a fighter,

I fight on.
